A few days ago, SAIC GM Buick brand first announced October sales of KuaiBao, data show that Buick brand sales of 99057 vehicles in October this year, an increase of 27% year-on-year, the highest monthly sales in two years. Affected by the market environment this year, sales did not become regular in the first 10 months, with a cumulative total of 687439 vehicles, down 4.1 per cent from a year earlier.
It is not difficult to see that Buick has helped the brand achieve certain sales support by pushing more models in various market segments this year. At present, it has completed the new layout of the mainstream market segments, such as MPV, SUV, cars, new energy vehicles, including the addition of two high-end brands, Avenir Avia and GS, as well as the growth of the Anke family.
In terms of specific models, Buick's main sales come from two single models, including Buick Yinglang and the GL8 family, which are back with four-cylinder engines this year. Among them, Yinglang sold 33789 vehicles in October, up 106.5% from a year earlier, the best result in 21 months. In the environment of the new 1.5L four-cylinder engine and 48V light mixing system and the continuous expansion of terminal concessions, Yinglang has been favored by many consumers and is firmly in the forefront of mainstream intermediate cars.
The new generation of GL8 family matrix, which is composed of GL8 Avia, GL8 ES Lu Zun and GL8 land business class series, helped the brand win sales of 17716 vehicles, setting a record monthly sales record, and still ranked first among domestic high-end MPV models.
Taking a broad view of the above two models, they have accounted for more than 50% of Buick brand sales in October, which means that apart from the above two models, other models still sell brands, even in the environment of a number of new models launch and replacement, set a certain sales record, but also because many of its models are new models.
Buick SUVs, for example, sold just 21241 new cars in October, up 45.3 per cent from a year earlier. From the known sales point of view, Buick brand SUV models are still weak, not a single SUV sales of more than 10,000, some model sales are also secretive, only announced cumulative sales. As for cars and new energy, in addition to Yinglang's marked growth, LaCrosse also achieved some growth, rising 48 per cent year-on-year to 4895 in October, while Regal sales were 14569, down slightly from last year. Buick micro-blue new energy models from January to October cumulative sales reached 11149, the average monthly sales of only about 1000, the sense of existence is not strong.
Overall, Buick's October sales growth is also a homeopathic performance, which is already a good performance for non-mainstream joint venture brands. However, the brand growth is more affected by the Yinglong after the pain of the three-cylinder engine, and the return to the four-cylinder plus preferential treatment makes the performance-to-price ratio improved. At the same time, with the growth of domestic high-end consumption, Buick GL8 dominates the high-end MPV market segment, which helps the brand to achieve a significant recovery, which is still a challenge for other models.
