There is no obvious change in appearance between the new car and the old crown. The large size polygonal front air intake grille is still adopted, combined with the upper bilateral four-outlet exhaust layout, which maintains its momentum as a medium-sized car.

The new crown has changed a lot in the interior. The new car cancels the large display screen of the original air conditioning control area and is equipped with a 12.3-inch suspended central control touch screen to replace the previous dual-screen design style of upper and lower screens; the air conditioning control panel below the touch screen has been reduced and equipped with knob buttons on both sides. In addition, the new car still uses the instrument panel of mechanical pointer plus LCD screen combination, with three-frame multi-function steering wheel.

In terms of appearance, the new model is no different from the old model, still offering three power systems for consumers to choose from: 2.0T turbocharged four-cylinder engine, 2.5L naturally aspirated and electric motor hybrid system, and 3.5L naturally aspirated and electric motor hybrid system.

It is worth mentioning that Toyota Crown officially stopped production in China on April 28 this year after experiencing 12 generations, 13 generations and 14 generations of domestic models. Up to now, FAW Toyota Crown has produced 483679 units accumulatively. The former brilliant models are inevitably at the end of the road. At present, Crown has been replaced by FAW Toyota's Asian Dragon.

Why was Crown finally forced to stop production? First of all, crown, which is popular all over the country in luxury business style, tries to balance luxury and sports in order to cater to the market's increasingly younger movement, and the final result is unsatisfactory. In addition, Crown is too slow to update in China, which directly leads to the inability of products, designs and technologies to compete with competitors of the same level.

Perhaps, since Toyota started the development of Asian Dragon, the attitude towards Crown has been determined. Coincides with Asian Dragon, the downward price can't compete with Camry, the upward configuration can't compete with Lexus ES, the shutdown is also expected.
