AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)11/10 Report--
After halving its profits last year, Mazda has not yet been adjusted in 2020. Hit by the epidemic, Mazda is losing money.
A few days ago, Japanese carmaker Mazda reported that net sales fell about 34.6% from a year earlier to 1.12 trillion yen (about 7.056 million yuan), and an operating loss of 52.863 billion yen (about 3.33 billion yuan). Last year's operating profit was 25.811 billion yen.
Affected by the epidemic, the company's car sales fell seriously, achieving global car sales of 578000 units in the first half of the fiscal year, down 20.8 per cent from the same period a year earlier.
Mazda still expects an operating loss of 40 billion yen this fiscal year, and full-year car sales will fall 8.4% from a year earlier to 1.3 million units, the lowest level in seven years.
At present, car sales in Mazda's main markets except China are relatively low, with figures showing that in the first half of the fiscal year, Mazda's sales in China rose 7 per cent year-on-year to 117000 vehicles.
In the latest October, Mazda sold 19700 vehicles in China, down 1 per cent from a year earlier. Among them, FAW Mazda sold 5076 vehicles and Changan Mazda sold 14600 vehicles.
The results for fiscal year 2019 (April 1, 2019-March 31, 2020) showed that Mazda achieved revenue of 3.4303 trillion yen, down 4% from the same period last year, and realized profit of 43.6 billion yen, down 47% from the same period last year. The carmaker is under tremendous pressure from continued declining performance and losses.
