In June, Evergrande Health completed its acquisition of NEVS, with a 100 per cent controlling stake in NEVS.

In July, Evergrande changed the name of its listed company Evergrande Health to Evergrande Automobile, marking that the main business of the listed company has become new energy vehicles. Evergrande also revealed that it has built a new energy vehicle industry chain covering battery, powertrain, advanced vehicle manufacturing, car sales and smart charging, and is developing 14 new cars at the same time.

In August, the Evergrande car conference was officially held, and six new cars of the "Hengchi" brand were unveiled for the first time, including Hengchi 1, Hengchi 2, Hengchi 3, Hengchi 4, Hengchi 5 and Hengchi 6, covering A to D classes. Evergrande revealed at the half-year results conference that mass production will be achieved in the second half of 2021.

The official display of Evergrande does not seem to see the new Hengchi car, but Evergrande Guoneng 93 model. It is speculated that it is only possible to take Hengda Neng 93 model for trial production, and the car will not be in the follow-up real production plan.

At present, Evergrande is expected to invest a total of 29.4 billion yuan in the automotive business, mainly in equity acquisition, base construction, research and development, equipment and so on. Xu Jiayin, chairman of Evergrande Group, has said that Evergrande will produce 1 million vehicles a year and will become the largest and most powerful new energy vehicle group in the world in three to five years.
