AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)11/15 Report--

Great Wall Motor, as one of the mainstream independent brands in China, has always appeared in everyone's field of vision with the model dominated by SUV, and is known as "the global leader of SUV in China". But in a recently exposed Harvard model plan, there are two MPV figures, and the new model may become its non-load-bearing MPV model.

A few days ago, when Great Wall Automobile gave an online lecture on the "Great Wall of Science and Technology" series on a live broadcast platform, Sun Xidong, an engineer of tank platform architecture, introduced this information to users. During this period, Great Wall also revealed a number of new car plans to be launched on the platform, including three SUV models, two MPV models and three pickup models.

In addition to the planned launch of more models, the new platform also plans to position three models, including medium, medium and large models, in order to achieve market competitiveness.

As we all know, Great Wall Automobile, as an independent brand established earlier in China, initially developed the Harvard brand by relying on the pickup technology platform, and also launched a variety of models during this period, but later only competed through SUV and pickup models due to poor market performance. Its fuel market sedan models and the previously launched Great Wall V80 and Jiayu MPV models were also discontinued in 2013 and 2009, respectively, leaving only the SUV model, pick-up truck model and new energy car market, so the revival plan for the MPV model is also a bit of a surprise.

What is even more surprising is that the MPV model plan exposed this time will be built on the tank platform of Great Wall, so these two products will be MPV products with non-load-bearing body.

As a new vehicle platform newly developed by Great Wall Automobile, the biggest advantage of tank platform is that it has three core advantages: tough power combination, extreme cross-country ability and intelligent off-road mode. Can turn in the narrow cross-country space to deal with complex road conditions. After all, the configuration of this non-load-bearing body mostly stays in a few fields, such as hard off-road vehicles, trucks, top cars and so on, giving full play to its advantages of high rigidity and high stillness.

As a matter of fact, there have been non-load-bearing MPV models in the domestic market, even though the Junge launched by Mitsubishi in 2008 was gradually eliminated by the domestic market and stopped production in 2011 because the products had not been replaced and updated. The only non-load-bearing MPV models that can be seen are Mitsubishi Delica in northern Japan and Southeast Asian markets. Therefore, it is not clear the specific positioning of the two MPV models of the tank platform, and whether they will be sold in the Chinese market.

However, the new car plan based on the tank platform will greatly enrich the product matrix of Great Wall Motors in the future. And its tank 300 as the first model of the tank platform will also be the representative of the platform. In addition, this year, Great Wall Motor has also established three major automobile modular architecture platforms led by lemon and coffee in addition to tanks, with the development and design capabilities of SUV, pickup trucks, cars, and powertrain, which will help Great Wall to launch a new market competition.
