According to the statistics of the Federation of passengers, the cumulative sales of narrow passenger cars in China from January to October were 14.921 million, down 10.2% from the same period last year. Of this total, car sales were 7.177 million, down 12.5% from the same period last year. The cumulative sales of SUV were 6.903 million, and the cumulative sales of MPVs were down 5.3% and 841000, down 25.4%.
In October this year, the domestic passenger car market continued to grow, with an increase of 8.1% over the same period last year, but cumulative sales still declined by 10.2%. The stock competitive automobile market further aggravates the polarization, and the weak brands and products are facing the fate of being eliminated.
From the statistical list, the brands on the list are mainly independent brands, including brilliance China, Haima Motor, Speed Automobile, BAIC Yinxiang and other brands. These brands have a low sense of existence in China and are basically on the edge of the market. It could be delisted at any time. Although the sales share of new energy vehicles is low, but from the overall sales, we can still see the development in the market.
Brilliance China has two models on the list, and the cumulative sales of China H3 and China V6 in the first 10 months were only 2 and 37. Once upon a time, brilliance China was still the leader of Chinese brands, and China Junjie was recognized as the pinnacle of domestic production. However, with the continuous development of other independent brands and accelerating investment in products, technology and design, brilliance China has lost its glory. Brilliance Automobile Group has been mired in a debt crisis in recent months, and its future development is very slim because a huge amount of debt has been filed for bankruptcy restructuring, which may be liquidated or restructured.
Speed cars also have no sense of existence. The brand was founded in April 2015 and belongs to Yinxiang Group. Currently, only three models, T3, M3 and T5, are on sale on the official website. Data show that since the establishment of the speed brand, the sales volume of the models launched has not been hot, especially after BAIC Yinxiang also appeared the management crisis, the speed car has become more and more difficult. In 2019, about 40 dealers signed a "framework agreement" with speed cars, requiring them to simplify the withdrawal procedures and speed up the withdrawal process. After being mired in financial difficulties and protecting the rights of dealers, where will the speed cars go?
As a car company committed to the development of new energy vehicles, BAIC New Energy is currently in a worrying situation, with sales falling as high as 78.39% in the first 10 months. At present, BAIC's new energy mainly relies on the EU system to maintain sales, but the cumulative sales decline is as high as 76.2%, while another model called LITE is even more miserable, with only 12 vehicles sold in the first 10 months.
Joint venture brands are mainly French brands, with Dongfeng Citroen C5, Dongfeng Peugeot e2008 and 4008 PHEV appearing on the list, with sales of 25, 35 and 34 respectively. Dongfeng Peugeot and Dongfeng Citroen are brands of DPCA. With the delisting of Dongfeng Renault and the dissolution of Changan PSA, DPCA is the only French brand left to fight alone in the Chinese market, but even with dual-brand development, DPCA can not hide its sluggish market performance. In the first 10 months of this year, DPCA sold a total of 38202 vehicles, down 62.09 per cent from a year earlier. DPCA still has a sales performance of 113600 in 2019, and may not even reach 50, 000 this year.
For other models, the FAW Pentium E01 was officially launched at the 2020 Beijing Auto Show, but only 24 were sold in October. FAW Jilin Senya R9 is only 4, Lectra 06 PHEV is only 78.
In 2020, including brilliance, Zhongtai, Lifan, Huatai, Cheetah and other traditional car companies continue to storm, these brands due to the lack of core technology and sufficient funds to maintain operation, may be abandoned by the market at any time. The integration and survival of the fittest in the automobile industry are accelerating, and some brands will disappear in the market, especially for these weak independent car brands such as seahorse and brilliance, time may really be running out. The current situation of these brands has also sounded the alarm for other brands, and reform is imminent.
