A few days ago, according to the enterprise name declaration and registration notice of the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration, the name of GAC Ean New Energy vehicle Co., Ltd. has been declared. The name of the company was changed to "Guangqi Ean New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd." on November 16. The registered capital of the company was changed from 782.73 million yuan to 1.41897 billion yuan.

It also means that the Ian brand is about to achieve independence, and according to insiders, GAC GROUP will announce the news at the Guangzhou Auto Show, which opens on November 20.

Prior to this, it was also reported in the industry that GAC NE will be in Science and Technology Innovation Board IPO. GAC NE said that only relevant research has been done and has not yet risen to the specific implementation stage.

According to public information, GAC GROUP's new energy business is mainly led by GAC NE Automobile Co., Ltd., which was established on July 28, 2017. The company's business scope includes: charging pile sales; new energy vehicle related technical services; new energy vehicle related technology transfer services; new energy vehicle related technology consulting services; intelligent networked vehicle related technology research, technology development services and so on.

With the independence of the Ian brand, it means that it will form the two independent plates under GAC GROUP with the Chuanqi brand. At present, GAC NE has a total of four models on sale, including Chuanqi GE3 and three models of the Ian family, namely the Aion S sedan and the two SUV models Aion V and Aion LX.

GAC NE's Ean family will usher in a fourth model at the upcoming Guangzhou auto show, and the trailer chart of the car has also been released, and the new car will be positioned as an A-class intelligent pure electric SUV for young consumers.

Now, after the brand is independent, the product lineup is likely to be integrated, which means that the fate of Chuanqi GE3 may also change. As for whether there will be a new car named model to replace the Chuanqi GE3, will also wait for the official further information exposure.

With the increasingly fierce competition in the domestic New year energy market, the arrangement of product series and formation is also to make the brand more representative, allowing consumers to subdivide the brand and products in more detail, so as to improve brand awareness. After all, the complex and chaotic layout of the model is easy to confuse consumers and reduce their familiarity with the brand.

GAC NE's cumulative sales from January to October this year reached 45797, a sharp increase of 72 per cent over the same period last year, with the Ian family accounting for more than 95 per cent of sales, according to the Federation of passengers. Among them, the sales of Ian V increased steadily, exceeding 2000 units for two months in a row. In this regard, from a product line to an independent brand, Ian will become the new energy signboard of GAC GROUP's independent plate in the future.
