As we all know, Maybach used to be an ultra-luxury brand, whose models sold at a price comparable to Rolls-Royce, but was integrated into Mercedes-Benz due to long-term losses. A few days ago, Mercedes-Benz brought its "heavy" flagship model, Mercedes-Maybach, in the Chinese market.

On the eve of the 2020 Guangzhou Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz brought the new Maybach S-Class and Maybach GLS. Although the Maybach GLS model made its domestic debut as early as last year's Guangzhou Auto Show. However, a year later, the model was officially launched at the 2020 Guangzhou Auto Show. A total of three models are priced at 2.738 million yuan, 2.158 million yuan and 1.588 million yuan respectively.

On the same day, Mercedes-Benz also brought the Maybach S-Class based on the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class, which is more extreme in design, materials, space, luxury experience and many other aspects. It is worth noting that this conference is the global debut of the new Maybach S-Class car.

Whether it's the Maybach S-Class or the Maybach GLS, the two models only have a younger appearance and are also available with a two-color body, coupled with a huge family chrome-plated straight waterfall grille design and a C / D column Maybach exclusive double "M" logo. Among them, the Maybach GLS has also become the first Mercedes-Benz SUV in the family.

In terms of size, the new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class sedan is extended by 18 cm to 5469 mm in length and 3396 mm in length on the basis of the new S-Class sedan, and the extended space is fully used in the back row. The Maybach SGLS body length, width and height is 5210/2030/1838mm, and the wheelbase is 3135mm.

In terms of interior decoration, "luxury" is still famous for the two Maybach models, because Maybach's interior never disappoints. In addition to the interior design of the prototype model, the new car is wrapped in a large area of leather and uses a number of Maybach logos.

On the power side, the Maybach S680 4MATIC is equipped with a 6.0L twin-turbocharged V12 engine, which can output 450kW and 900Nm torque, and matches the 9G-Tronic gearbox and 4MATIC all-wheel drive system for the first time. The new Mercedes-Maybach S580 4MATIC is equipped with a V8 engine, matching the latest generation of 48V intelligent motor system, bringing 370kW power and 700Nm torque, the motor can instantly output additional 15kW (20hp) power and 180Nm torque.

Maybach GLS 6004MATIC and GLS 480L 4MATIC are equipped with 4.0kW output power and 730Nm peak torque, respectively. The former has 410kW output power and 730Nm peak torque. It takes only 4.9s to accelerate 100km. The latter can output 270kW and 500Nm strong power. Both are equipped with 48V smart motors, which can instantly output 16kW of power and 250Nm of torque.

Nearly 60000 Maybach S-Class sedans have been delivered worldwide since its launch in February 2015, according to Hubertus Troska, a board member of Daimler AG who is in charge of Greater China operations. The Chinese market accounts for more than 70% of sales.

Now the global debut of the new Maybach S-Class and the launch of the Maybach GLS also see that the Chinese market is of great importance to Mercedes-Benz in the context of the gradual expansion of the domestic luxury market. Mercedes-Maybach is also speeding up the introduction of new products.

Tang Shikai also said, "with the arrival of the two new cars in the Chinese market, we will continue to bring more premium options to global customers, especially Chinese customers." Sales of Mercedes-Maybach are expected to continue to grow with the help of new products.
