On the evening of November 21, China Automotive Research C-NCAP officially released the third batch of crash test results in 2020. A total of seven models were tested, all of which were traditional gasoline models, including three independent brands and four joint venture brands.

It is worth mentioning that there were eight test models in the third batch of cars in 2020, but due to the recent recall of ideal ONE due to defects, only the remaining seven models were released this time. The third batch of test models in 2020 include Red Flag HS5, Harvard F7, Mercedes-Benz GLB, BMW 3-Series, Honda Honda, Nissan Teana and Baojun RM-5. Overall, of the seven models, only the new Baojun RM-5 did not get a five-star evaluation, with a comprehensive scoring rate of only 74.7%, making it the lowest C-NCAP scoring rate this year.

Combined with the previous, the second batch of six test models in 2020 are Ford focus, Mazda 3 Uncella, Toyota RAV4 Rongfang, Jetta VS5, BYD Song Pro DM and Xingtu TXL;. The first batch of test models in 2020 are Chuan Qi GA6, Volkswagen Passat, Geely Geometry An and Honda Haoying. Judging from the final results, only two of the 17 models (Baojun RM-5/ Jetta VS5) received four-star ratings, while the remaining 15 models were rated as five-star / five-star +.

According to the vehicle collision rules of China Automotive Research Institute, each model carries out AEB test, pedestrian protection test, three real vehicle collision tests and whipping tests in turn. The AEB test of the first model of the latest batch test began on July 29, 2020, and the crash test of the last model was completed by October 29.

It is understood that in order to dispel users' prejudices about Sinochem, CNAC announced that it would update collision standards and rules, and the C-NCAP Management rules will be upgraded from 2018 to 2021, which will be revised for occupant protection, pedestrian protection, active safety and other aspects, with a certain improvement in collision rigor compared to previous ones.

However, for SAIC, the bigger problem is "credibility". After all, the name "five-Star Wholesale Department" is not obtained casually, and once the credibility is gone, there is little significance for existence.
