The consumer BG IRB is reorganized into intelligent terminal and intelligent automobile parts IRB, and the investment decision and portfolio management of intelligent automobile parts business is adjusted from ICT IRB to intelligent terminal and intelligent automobile parts IRB. Yu Chengdong was appointed director of IRB for smart terminals and smart car components.

At the same time, Huawei has once again made it clear that Huawei does not build complete cars, but focuses on ICT technology to help car companies build good cars and become an incremental parts provider of Smart Networked cars. It is understood that due to previous media reports that Huawei smart car solution BU is being integrated with consumer BG, the two departments have been merged at the investment level, and the chief executive is Huawei consumer business CEO Yu Chengdong. In fact, as early as May 27, 2019, Ren Zhengfei issued Huawei organizational change documents, approved the establishment of smart car solution BU, under the management of the ICT management committee, and pointed out that Huawei will not build cars, but will focus on ICT technology and become an incremental ICT parts supplier for automobiles to help enterprises build cars. This means that Huawei will not build cars for at least the next three years.
