AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)11/26 Report--

A defect in the fuel pump made by Japanese parts giant Denso has led a number of car companies to launch recalls around the world, but the defect is still expanding the scope of recalls. According to media reports, Denso announced that it will recall more than 1.5 million fuel pumps because of defects in these pumps, which may cause the fuel pumps to stop working, resulting in the potential risk of vehicle flameout or accidents.

Japanese auto parts giant Denso has recalled more than 5 million vehicles due to defective fuel pumps produced by Toyota, Honda, Subaru, Mazda and other car companies, CCTV Finance reported, citing Japanese media. At the end of last month, Toyota announced another 2.66 million vehicles in question, including Japan, the United States, Europe and other parts of the world, because of problems with fuel pumps made by Denso delivered in March 2020. this is the third time that Toyota has announced a recall this year because of the same problem, with a total recall of more than 3.3 million vehicles.

In November, Toyota announced 401873 Lexus and Toyota imported / domestic models due to insufficient resin density due to imperfect resin forming conditions in the manufacture of low-pressure fuel pump impellers by suppliers. The impeller may be inflated and deformed due to the influence of fuel, which interferes with the shell of the low-pressure fuel pump, resulting in the poor operation of the low-pressure fuel pump. In extreme cases, the vehicle may not start normally or the engine will stall while driving.

Since April this year, joint ventures in China, including Mitsubishi, Toyota, Honda and Mazda, have announced recalls due to engine flameout caused by defective fuel pumps. So far, 1737187 cars have been recalled because of defective fuel pumps.

The Japanese Denso company's announcement of an expanded recall means that more and more brands or models will fall into it in the future. In addition to the above four car companies, defective fuel pumps produced by Denso companies are also sold to Ford. Changan Ford / Jiangling Ford may also carry out a recall in the future, while Subaru, as a Japanese manufacturer, has not yet filed the recall plan in China.
