AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)11/27 Report--
GM is again paying for brake fluid leakage! SAIC General Motors Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration on November 27th, and decided to recall some of the 2015-2018 Buick Uncoveys manufactured between July 28, 2014 and February 11, 2018, totaling 649357 vehicles, starting from December 31, 2020.
The reason for the recall is that the tightness of the brake hose joint does not match the braking pressure of the whole vehicle, which may lead to the decline of sealing performance after long-term use. In extreme cases, it may cause brake fluid leakage, reduce braking pressure and affect the braking performance of the vehicle.
In view of the above defects, SAIC General Motors Co., Ltd. will replace the improved brake hoses for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge to eliminate safety risks. It is worth mentioning that the recall was carried out in the context of the defect investigation initiated by the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration. Affected by the investigation, SAIC General Motors Co., Ltd. decided to take recall measures to eliminate safety risks.
Ankewei, a medium-sized SUV under SAIC GM Buick, is currently on sale for the 2021 model, which officially went on sale on November 2, with a price range of 18.99-209900 yuan. In terms of power, the 2021 Oncoway carries a 1.5T turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 169hp and a peak torque of 250Nm.
In terms of sales, the Ankewei is the main selling model in the Buick SUV camp, with sales of 16223 in October and 123576 in the first 10 months, second only to Buick Yinglang in overall sales. The recall is as high as 650000 vehicles, which is estimated at 160000 sales in 2020, almost all the sales of Ankewei in the past four years.
It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time SAIC GM has conducted a mass recall because of brake fluid leakage, and the recall plan was filed in July this year.
SAIC General Motors recalled 249953 Buick GL8 luxury business cars and a new generation of Buick GL8 cars on July 31. Among them, a total of 112108 Buick GL8 luxury business cars manufactured from September 28, 2016 to July 24, 2018 were recalled, and 137845 Buick brand-new generation GL8 cars manufactured between June 6, 2016 and October 11, 2018 were recalled. The reasons for the recall are basically the same as this recall.
In addition, SAIC General Motors also recalled 2251 new generation Buick LaCrosse, Chevrolet Malibao XL and Cadillac XT4 cars in October because there may be a foreign body in the main brake pump, which eventually weakens the braking power and affects the braking performance of the vehicle, which is consistent with the final impact of brake fluid leakage.
It is understood that brake fluid is a liquid medium that transmits braking pressure in hydraulic braking system, and it is an indispensable part of braking system. Brake fluid leakage will seriously affect the braking system of the vehicle and increase the risk of collision.
