AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)12/02 Report--
C-IASI of the China Insurance Research Institute was silent for almost half a year after a statement that sensitive data had been stolen. While people are still discussing the tragic situation of the collision between Passat and Haoying, the official C-IASI of the China Insurance Research Institute "returned" by releasing the test results of five models, and quickly occupied the headlines of the major platforms. In addition to the heated discussions of Guangzhou Automobile Honda Haoying and SAIC Volkswagen's 2020 Passat, the tested models include the Harvard H6, Lecker 03 and Mazda Atez.
Among the published evaluation results, the Passat collision result of "two brushes" is undoubtedly the most noteworthy. At the same time, the 2020 Passat voluntarily applied for testing for SAIC-Volkswagen, and the collision model is also the lowest-equipped 280TSI business version, with front / rear side air curtains added compared to the 2019 model.
According to reports, PICC Research received a voluntary retest application from SAIC-Volkswagen in August this year. Because the newly listed models are different from the previously evaluated models, they meet the test standards. PICC Research then selected and purchased 2020 Passat newly listed vehicles from random 4S stores for retesting, and the vehicle procurement was purchased independently by PICC Research.
From the final result, there is a significant difference between the 2019 Passat and the 2020 Passat.
In terms of the most important in-car occupant safety index, the 2020 Passat 280 TSI Business Edition received an excellent (G) rating. Among them, the front 25% offset collision, side collision, roof strength and seat / headrest test results are all excellent (G).
By contrast, the 2019 Passat 280 TSI Business Edition received a general (M) rating. Among them, 25% of the front offset collision is poor (P), side impact A, roof strength and seat / headrest test result is G.
After the serious damage to reputation and the sharp decline in sales, strengthening the structure of vehicles such as A-pillar can be seen as SAIC-Volkswagen response to public opinion or remedial measures.
China Insurance Research C-IASI and the American Highway Safety Insurance Association IIHS adopt the same test procedures. Previously, the American version of Passat based on the PQ46 platform received excellent evaluation in the 25% offset collision test of IIHS. Even if the A-pillar is slightly deformed, it also leaves enough living space for drivers, which is completely different from the 90-degree bend of the 2019 Passat on the domestic MQB platform.
It can be said that after the collision test and the pressure of public opinion, the latest domestic Passat purchased by Chinese consumers finally has the opportunity to have the same intensity standard as the overseas version of Passat.
However, owners who have bought the 2019 Passat may have no choice but to accept reality.
Another hot model is Guangqi Honda Haoying, and the results released this time are exactly the same as those leaked on the official website. Among them, 25% offset collision is the most controversial area.
The evaluation model is the 2020 Haoying 240TURBO CVT elite version with a price of 179800 yuan. The results show that the crashworthiness and maintenance economy of Haoying are P (poor), and the occupant safety index, pedestrian safety index and auxiliary safety are all G.
In terms of occupant safety index, 25% of the front offset collision and side collision were well evaluated (A), and the roof strength and seat / headrest test results were excellent (G). However, from the point of view of the collision process, Haoying seriously bent the A-column in the 25% offset collision, and the head of the dummy was excessively moved and there was no safety air curtain, which led to head injury.
According to China Insurance Research, the Haoying incident originated from the temporary link in the audit state was stolen, and then closed the temporary link; the event itself is so hot that it does not want to waste public resources because of this, so it has not been heard again since. China Insurance Research also said that the Haoying incident exposed its internal process problems. At that time, Haoying's achievements should be released after the incident, and answered directly whether the stolen information was true or false, rather than just declaring that the information had been stolen.
Now the result of Haoying evaluation has finally been confirmed, perhaps from the perspective of the collision process, there is a deviation with many netizens and consumers' imagination.
The performance of the other three models is different, Lecke 03 is better, FAW Mazda and Harvard H6 are average.
The performance of LEC 03 is good, and the tested model is 2019 LEC 03 1.5TD 7DCT. Except for the average performance of "crashworthiness and maintenance economy Index", the other items and sub-items are excellent (G).
FAW Mazda Atez tested the car for the 2020 2.0L Blue Sky Deluxe version, with an instructional price of 189800 yuan. The main problem with the car is that it only gets average (M) in 25% offset crashes.
There is a problem with the structure of the Atez vehicle, the firewall invades the cab in the 25% offset collision, and the A-pillar is obviously bent. The protection in the car is limited, the lateral movement of the center of the Atz steering wheel is excessive, and the front coverage of the side head protection airbag is limited.
The 2020 Harvard H6 Platinum Urban Edition got a good (A) on the safety index of car members, mainly due to the problem of "roof strength". Among them, 25% of the front offset collision and side collision obtained excellent (G) evaluation, the roof strength got good (A) evaluation, and the seat / headrest test result was excellent (G).
It is worth noting that the Harvard H6 got an An in the roof strength, resulting in only A for the in-car member safety index project. However, Haoying's front 25% offset collision and side collision all got A, and the final safety index item for car members was G.
There is no doubt that the China Insurance Research C-IASI returned to consumers after six months, and brought the evaluation results of five models, of course, the most eye-catching are the 2020 Passat and Guangzhou Automobile Honda Haoying, all aspects of public opinion will continue to ferment. After this incident, SAIC Volkswagen and Passat, Guangzhou Auto Honda and Haoying, or China Insurance Research C-IASI, may continue to face the pressure of public opinion from all sides.
