Volvo's independent electric car brand Polestar (Polar Star) has a second model on the market, and the Polestar 2 has two equipped models, priced at 298000 yuan and 460000 yuan respectively. The car's main competitor is targeting the comprehensive WLTP mileage of Tesla Model 3MagnePolestar 2 for 500km, which is scheduled for delivery in the first half of next year.

Polestar's first mass-produced model is the Polestar 1, equipped with a plug-in hybrid system, limited to 500units, with a sales price of up to 1.45 million yuan, but a volume model of the brand.

Polestar 2 is based on the CMA architecture, which also gives birth to related models of Volvo, Lecker and Geely brands. The front face is similar to Volvo, maintaining the family design of the brand "Thor Hammer". It locates the sedan car model with a slip-back shape and a through-through lamp at the rear.

The length, width and height of the car are 4607 1478mm respectively, and the wheelbase reaches 2735mm, which is smaller than that of Model 3. The interior continues to maintain Volvo's simple design, using a full LCD dashboard and a large central control screen instead of physical buttons.

The car is equipped with a front and rear dual-motor four-wheel drive system with a combined maximum power of 408hp, a peak torque of 660Nm and a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 4.7s. The capacity of the power battery is 72kWh, and the comprehensive mileage of the vehicle under WLTP conditions can reach 500km.

Tesla Model 3 successfully caused a domestic electric wave after its listing in China. Under the relatively low price, long mileage and brand advantages, Model 3 once became an online celebrity car. After the Shanghai factory is put into production in the future, the price of Model 3 will further decline, which will have a significant impact on the domestic electric vehicle industry. It means that the price market in which Model 3 is located will become the main competitive area for high-end brands, which is exactly what Polestar 2 sees when it comes into the game. However, Polestar 2 is still more than a year away from mass production delivery, when the electric vehicle industry will still have great changes, and there are many variables.
