According to the latest figures, Changan Automobile sold a total of 219526 new cars in the past November, an increase of 24.48% year on year. Total car sales from January to November were 1803047, up 15.27% from the same period last year. Both independent brands and joint venture brands achieved year-on-year growth.
Under the influence of the epidemic and the general environment of the car market, many people made a sweat on Changan Ford. After all, Changan Ford's sales fell by 51.3% in 2019. However, Changan Ford's performance this year is really impressive, with sales of 28736 vehicles in November, up 52.83% from a year earlier. As of November, Changan Ford sold a total of 222174 new cars, up 33.78% from a year earlier. Although Changan Ford is not tall, it is good to be able to achieve 30% year-on-year growth.
Ruiji and explorers and other models have become the main sales force of Changan Ford. Relevant data show that in the first 10 months of this year, the cumulative sales of Ruiji, Forrest and Fox were 31200, 27600 and 27400 respectively. The sixth-generation explorer, which officially went on sale in June this year, has sold a total of 13700 vehicles, with monthly sales of about 3000, second only to Ruiji.
However, at present, Changan Ford still lacks "popular style" products, whether Ruiji or explorers, although they have good competitive advantages, but their respective advantages and disadvantages are obvious, and there is still a lot of pressure to compete with Civic, Carola, CR-V and other models. Ford continues to launch new products in China, speeding up the localization and technology launch of new models, which makes sales become regular smoothly, but judging from the decline in recent years, it is not easy for Ford to return to the top. Ford has also said it will launch at least 18 new models over the next three years.
Changan Mazda sold 13456 vehicles in November, an increase of 7.54% over the same period last year. From January to November, cumulative sales reached 123346 vehicles, a slight increase of 1.93% over the same period last year.
At present, Changan Mazda has four models on sale, namely, Onksera, CX-5, CX-30 and CX-8, among which Onksera and CX-5 are the main models. According to Mazda China data, Onksera sold 8342 vehicles in November and 2670 CX-5, while the latest CX-30 car sales were ugly, selling only 13969 in the six months since it went on sale. It can be said that CX-30 can only slightly increase sales for Mazda, more or expand the product line.
Finally, let's take a look at the Changan Chinese brand. Changan independent plate mainly has three brands: Changan, Auchan and Kaicheng. Changan Chinese brands sold a total of 166458 new cars in November, an increase of 23.5% over the same period last year, mainly due to the continued hot sales of the CS75 series, UNI-T and Changan Yitou.
The new compact SUV UNI-T sold 10016 vehicles in November, making it one of the main selling models in Changan, while the Changan CS75 series continued to sell well, with 32759 in November. Changan Yiyou sold 21148 in November, 14295 in the CS55 series and 10578 in the CS35 series. Other brands, Changan Auchan 13708, Changan Kaicheng 12408.
In the context of continued growth in sales, Changan Automobile is also further speeding up the high-end process. At the 2020 Guangzhou Auto Show, the UNI-K, the second production car of the Changan UNI series, was officially unveiled as a medium and large SUV, using a combination of Blue Whale 2.0T engine and Ericsson 8AT gearbox. The new car will be launched in the first half of next year.
In addition, in November this year, Changan also announced that it will work with Huawei and Ningde era to build a new high-end smart car brand, and the first model is about to enter the stage of mass production. According to the plan, Changan Automobile will launch 105 models in the next five years, including 23 new energy products.
According to the China Automobile Association, the market share of Chinese brands in the passenger car market from January to October this year was 37.1%, down 1.8% from the same period last year, while German and Japanese brands continued to gain market share in China.
The Chinese market needs high-end brands, including Red Flag, NIO and even Lecker, Wei Pai, etc. can be regarded as China's high-end / medium-to-high-end brands, but it is difficult for these "high-end brands" to be recognized by consumers. Therefore, for Chinese brands, high-end brands are not simply launched a brand and labeled as "high-end", but are more linked to products, services and other aspects. Compared with "Why do high-end brands", it is more difficult to "how to do high-end brands" and how to break consumers' perception of Chinese brands.
