AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)12/07 Report--
At the 2020 Guangzhou Auto Show, FAW Toyota officially said that a number of new cars, including Aolan, RAV4 Twin engine version and the new Yize, will be on the market within 2021, but the most concerned one is the medium-sized SUV code-named "770B". According to media reports, FAW Toyota's latest medium-sized SUV, named "Lu Fang", is a sister car of Guangzhou Auto Toyota's Hanlanda, based on the overseas version of the new Halanda, and is expected to go on sale in September 2021.
According to the relevant documents, the FAW Toyota version of "Hanlanda", code-named "770B", will launch a hybrid version with a planned production capacity of 50,000 vehicles per year. In terms of power, FAW Toyota "Hanlanda" may only launch hybrid models. As a reference, the new generation of overseas Hanlanda adopts a hybrid power system composed of 2.5L naturally aspirated engine and motor, which combines maximum power 182kw, traditional system or matching E-CVT gearbox.
Prior to this, FAW Toyota applied for registration of "Lu Ze" and "Lu Fang" two model naming trademarks, and according to the latest news, FAW Toyota "Hanlanda" will be named "Lu Fang". At present, FAW Toyota has only two SUV models, namely IZOA Yize and RAV4 Rongfang. With the launch of Lufang model, FAW Toyota's product camp will also be improved.
On the eve of the Guangzhou auto show, pictures of the brand-new homemade Hanlanda real car also circulated on the Internet. The overall styling of the new generation Hanlanda continues the overseas version of the model design, with a large forward air grille with a blackened middle net and flying wing chrome plating, which increases the recognition of the front face, and the fog lamp area on both sides is more slender than the cash. In terms of body size, the overseas version of Hanlanda has a length, width and height of 4950/1930/1727mm and a wheelbase of 2850mm, which is higher than that of cash.
At present, there are no real car pictures of FAW Toyota Lufang. According to the domestic Hanlanda and previous factory body drawings, it is expected that the overall outline of the new car will continue the overseas version of the design language, but will be adjusted according to the details. In order to distinguish Guangzhou Auto Toyota Hanlanda models, there will be no major changes in body size, power system, configuration and so on.
The Hanlanda is a best-selling model owned by GAC Toyota. Data show that Guangzhou Auto Toyota sold 77400 vehicles in November, up 13.82% from a year earlier, of which Hanlanda sold 9318 vehicles, up 4% from a year earlier, second only to Camry, Leiling and Weilanda.
As Toyota's main model, Hanlanda's position in the SUV field is beyond reproach. Now Toyota plans to launch another Henlanda sister model in China, on the one hand, to expand the TNGA architecture product camp and SUV product camp, on the other hand, it is to bring new sales growth points for FAW Toyota. However, whether the Lufang model will pose a threat to Hanlanda's position after its launch remains to be tested by the market.
In terms of the introduction of new cars, Toyota will further expand its product camp to cover more market segments. In addition to the previously exposed Aoolan / Lingshang, a new generation of Sienna (Senna), Harrier (Hailia) will be introduced into production by Guangzhou Auto Toyota and FAW Toyota respectively. As more and more new models are put into production, Toyota will have more new product lines in China in the future.
