It is reported that FAW Toyota will launch at least five new cars in 2021. According to the media exposure of the new car listing strategy map, FAW Toyota Corolla 1.5L, ALLION Aolan, Rongfang PHEV, Crown-Lu Fang, K-CROSS listing schedule has been confirmed.

Among them, Carola 1.5L and Rongfang PHEV are both new versions of the current car department. The Carola 1.5L model uses two 1.5L naturally aspirated three-cylinder engines codenamed M15A/M15B. The latter is equipped with a hybrid system composed of a 2.5L Atkinson cycle engine and a motor.

As the new models of the joint venture company, ALLION Aolan, Crown-Lufang and K-CROSS will be the top priorities of FAW Toyota's new car planning in 2021.

The new car listing strategy chart reveals that FAW Toyota ALLION Aolan will be launched on March 29th, 2021. The new car, a brand new car under Toyota's TNGA architecture, has made its debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show, located between the Carola and the Asian Dragon, and will be equipped with a 2.0L naturally aspirated engine.

The body size of the ALLION has not yet been announced, but it is known that its wheelbase is 2750mm, between Carola 2700mm and Asian Dragon 2870mm. In terms of the rear, the overall shape of the new car is quite similar to that of the new generation Corolla, but the name of the model in the middle of the taillight is based on the design of the Asian dragon. In terms of power, the ALLION will be equipped with a 2.0L naturally aspirated engine with a maximum power of 178hp and a maximum torque of 210Nm, matching the CVT transmission.

Officially named "Crown-Lufang" model is relatively special, it is reported that the car is Toyota Hanlanda's FAW Toyota domestic version, is expected to go on sale in September 2021. However, for the purpose of naming, it is impossible to guess.

The car will be FAW Toyota's first medium-sized SUV based on TNGA architecture and can be seen as a "sister version" of the new Hanlanda, with a planned annual production capacity of nearly 50, 000 vehicles, all hybrid versions.

As a reference, the RAV4 is equipped with A25B-FXS 2.5L in-line four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, twin motors and planetary gear E-CVT gearbox as the main components of the THS-II hybrid power system, in which the maximum engine power is 178hp and the comprehensive maximum power of the system is 222hp.

The K-CROSS, also a brand new model owned by FAW Toyota, will go on sale in November and is expected to make its debut in the first half of the year.

According to the release time of the new car and the speed of product construction of FAW Toyota, the car is expected to be a new Harrier (Hailia). Toyota Harrier is built on the same platform as the new RAV4, but the length of the body has been increased to 4740mm, which can also be regarded as a "sedan version" of RAV4.

In the power part, the new Harrier is equipped with a 2.0L naturally aspirated engine and a 2.5L THS II hybrid system. Among them, the maximum power of 2.0L engine is 171 horsepower and the peak torque is 207 Nm; the comprehensive maximum power of hybrid front-drive model is 218 horsepower, and the comprehensive maximum power of hybrid four-wheel drive model is 222 horsepower due to the increase of motor in the rear wheel. In terms of gearbox, it matches the CVT/E-CVT gearbox.

Data show that FAW-Toyota sold 83000 vehicles in November, up 18 per cent from a year earlier. In the first 11 months, FAW-Toyota sold 715000 vehicles, up 0.5 per cent from a year earlier. Based on policy, sales and product strategy and other reasons, FAW Toyota has stopped producing Ruizhi, Crown, Prado and Lande Cool Luze models one after another, and with the production and listing of a number of new subdivided models, FAW Toyota will also have a new product line in the future.
