As a sub-brand of Dongfeng Banner, this is also the first model of the Lantu car brand four months after its launch. the official price of the new car has not yet been announced, but according to the official statement, the final price of the car will not exceed 400000. It is expected to be officially launched in the third quarter of 2021 and will be sold in a direct mode.

Lantu is launched as a high-end brand of Dongfeng Motor, so the positioning of FREE is a luxurious medium and large SUV, and the whole vehicle will give more high-end design from the inside to the outside. Externally, the car is based on the iFREE, the first mass-produced concept car, with a waterfall front grille, a headlight-through LED belt and a glowing logo, and looks relatively simple.

The side of the body is closer to the iFREE concept car, but the design is also simple, using the current mainstream hidden doorknob. The addition of wide D-pillar and black trim outlines the feeling of a suspended roof. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4905, 1950 and 1690mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2955 mm. In terms of power, unlike many brand models, Lantu FREE will not only launch pure electric models, but also include two versions of extended range electric to enrich consumers' choices, including the extended range version of 860km and the pure electric version of 500km.

Lantu FREE is equipped with double motors, maximum power 500kW, maximum torque 1000Nm, 100 km acceleration only 4.6 s. The extended range version is equipped with a 1.5T + four-cylinder engine, which matches the generator of the highest power 80kW.

At present, Dongfeng Automobile Group has four independent brands, namely Dongfeng Fengshen, Dongfeng scenery, Dongfeng Fashion and Dongfeng Qichen. These four independent brands are basically located in the low-end market. The newly released Lantu brand is mainly committed to the high-end new energy market.
