AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)12/22 Report--

The transformation of the automobile industry from the technology industry is not uncommon at present, because the gradually mature intelligence of new energy vehicles makes many technology companies see hope. A few days ago, some media reported that Apple, which is "famous" in the mobile phone industry, will also transform the auto industry, but the real time to put into production is 2024.

Recently, there have been several media reports that Apple's first Apple Car will be released in September next year. This rapid plan not only shows that the release of the new car will be at least two years ahead of schedule, but could also bring about a major change in the auto industry. However, in response to the above reports, according to Reuters, Apple will not produce passenger cars until 2024 at the earliest. At that time, Apple cars may be equipped with their own battery technology.

It is understood that the reason for this news is that Taiwan media reported that Apple has recently been constantly urging auto parts factories in Taiwan, including Heda, FTU-KY, Heqin, Futian, and so on, to put forward stock requirements. Apple will release its first Apple Car in September next year, and even the Apple Car prototype has been tested on the road in California, according to some key supply chain manufacturers. Therefore, in order to meet the demand of Apple Car stock, large factories such as Daida and FTU have burst orders.

The report also pointed out that with regard to Apple Car production, the Futian Phase II plant is expected to be put into production next year, with power motors (engines) rising from the current capacity of 400000 to 1 million sets, and power integration systems to more than 400000 sets. However, due to the existence of the confidentiality agreement, the above manufacturers said that they could not disclose more details.

It is unclear who will help assemble Apple-branded cars, but people familiar with the matter expect the company to rely on manufacturing partners to build cars.

In addition, Guo Mingyi, a famous Apple analyst, also believes that Apple cars will not be released until 2023 to 2025. However, Apple has not yet made an official response to the above reports.

In fact, in 2014, Apple proposed a "Titan plan", which also shows Apple's ambition to occupy the automotive industry. However, the process is not smooth, Apple not only did not build a car, the plan almost ran aground, and there were repeated reports of layoffs in the "Titan Plan". Apple car-building was not restarted until 2018, when Doug Field, a senior Apple expert, returned, but Doug then left. In January last year, Apple also announced that it would fire 200 employees of the Titan project team.

The car-building plan may be a very secret plan for Apple, but for now, it is unlikely that there will be no leakage of any parts if Apple's car is in the final stages of shipping. So it's too early to release mass production cars next year.

On the product side, there are also third-party sources of Apple battery design revealed that the strategic core of Apple car is a new battery design, which can well solve the battery cost and increase battery mileage.

As for battery technology, according to people familiar with the matter, Apple will adopt a design called "single battery" to free up more internal space by reducing the outer packaging of the battery to fill more active materials to improve battery life. As for materials, people familiar with the matter said that LFP (lithium iron phosphate) batteries may be used because they are not easy to overheat and can be safer than other types of lithium-ion batteries.

Although Apple's car-building plans are mysterious, the news about its car-building plans has been heard many times, but there has been no official response from Apple. However, judging from the current pace, Apple has plans to build cars, and it is worth waiting for when the models will be mass-produced.
