Since the second half of the year, Beijing Hyundai has successively launched the 10th generation Sonata, new Elantra, new ix35 and other models, with the intention of speeding up the renewal of the product line. Festa's medium-term revamping will be the "last card" of Beijing Hyundai in 2020.

Festa is a special compact car for the Chinese market owned by Beijing Hyundai. After the new car cancels the low-equipped 1.4T model, it further solves the problem of overlapping price and product positioning with the new Elantra, forming more obvious product differences.

Compared with the cash, the mid-term modified Festa's front face uses a more sporty fish-scale pattern, canceling the design of chrome plating on the net, and the color of the new screen becomes all-black, making the front face more sporty in design. The headlight group and other details have not changed much.

The side details of the new car have also changed, with rims with 18-inch matte black rims, red calipers inside, and a side skirt with black piano paint on the side. The shape of the interior of the new car is not much different from that of the current model, and the main change comes from the color matching of the center console and seats. Festa will also provide red colors to further highlight the sports atmosphere.

In terms of power, the new car provides only two power-adjusted 1.6T engines, with a maximum power of 190 horsepower and 204 horsepower, with a peak torque of 265 Nm. In terms of transmission system, it matches the 7-speed double clutch gearbox.

Entering 2020, Festa's market performance continues to be depressed. Beijing Hyundai Festa sold 2101 vehicles in November, with a cumulative sales of 32337 from January to November. In 2019, the market response of Festa is still relatively fierce, with an average monthly sales of more than 8000 units, some of which exceed 10, 000 units per month, and are even considered competitors of Civic, Oncella and other joint venture models.

In August 2019, Beijing Hyundai Festa performed badly in the car crash test results released by the China Insurance Research C-IASI. On the 25% offset collision project, Festa's front collapsed seriously, the firewall invaded the cab, the A-column bent 90 °, and the side beam between AB columns also bent.

As 25% of the front offset collision and side collision are evaluated by M (general), in the end, Festa's occupant safety index can only get an M rating.

After the China Insurance Research incident, it has a great impact on Festa's product image and terminal sales. Whether the launch of the mid-term change will be specifically enhanced in terms of security is still unknown. However, it will be difficult to return to the monthly sales level of 10,000 vehicles after increased competition and Festa's elimination of lower-priced low-end models.
