This year, the global new car market was affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, sales around the world showed a significant decline, the overall downward trend, while China's passenger car export sales are also not optimistic. However, in the overall downward environment, there is a significant change in the ranking of domestic independent brand export volume.

According to the latest information released by the China Automobile Association, the top 10 companies in terms of car exports from January to November this year are SAIC, Chery, Chang'an, Great Wall, Geely, Dongfeng, BAIC, Daqing Volvo, Jianghuai and Sinotruk. Significant changes have taken place in the rankings of SAIC, Chery, Dongfeng, BAIC, Changan, Great Wall, Geely, Jianghuai, Daqing Volvo and Sinotruk, which ranked among the top 10 export companies in 2019.

Compared with the same period last year, Changan, Great Wall, Geely and Jianghuai all rose in the rankings, but in terms of sales data, the export volume of Changan, Chery and Geely grew faster this year, while SAIC and Great Wall grew slightly. Daqing Volvo declined slightly, while the other four companies fell more significantly.

At the same time, in terms of cumulative sales from January to November this year, there are still, led by the top 10 enterprises, exporting a total of 764000 new vehicles, accounting for 89.9% of the total car exports. It can be predicted that the overall export volume may decline further this year. According to the data, China exported 1.024 million cars in 2019, down 1.6 percent from the same period last year, including 725000 passenger vehicles, down 4.3 percent from the same period last year, and 299000 commercial vehicles, up 5.7 percent from the same period last year. As a result, some industries predict that the total export volume of China's own-brand cars will decline by nearly 10% this year.

As the largest car company in China, SAIC, which still has the largest export volume this year, won the top spot, with overall sales reaching 221000 vehicles this year, accounting for 1/3 of the total overseas sales of Chinese car companies. Among them, overseas sales of SAIC's independent plate reached 140000 vehicles, an increase of 24.7%. For example, MG brand electric new energy is more prominent in Europe, accounting for half of the total sales of nearly 20, 000 vehicles. In addition, its Roewe, Mingjue, GM Wuling, Chase and other countries have been exported to Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and other countries. At present, SAIC has three overseas vehicle manufacturing bases in Thailand, Indonesia and India.

Although the performance of the Chery brand in China is mediocre, due to its earlier layout of the export field, it has exported a total of 1.7 million new cars so far. According to the sales figures released by Chery Group, from January to November, Chery Group exported a total of 100126 cars, an increase of 15% over the same period last year. At present, Chery's export business covers more than 80 overseas countries and regions.

Second only to these two better export car companies, Changan Automobile ranks third this year. It can be said that Chang'an has achieved a bumper harvest in both domestic and foreign markets this year. Although Great Wall, which has set up factories overseas, lags behind Changan this year, and even as it makes great strides in the transition to a global technology travel company, it lags behind pickup models in terms of passenger car exports, according to data. Great Wall pickup has ranked first in export sales in this sector for 22 years in a row. At present, the Great Wall has covered Russia, South Africa, Australia and the Middle East, Africa, South America, Asia-Pacific and other regional markets, export models including Fengjun 5, Harvard F7 and so on.

Geely's exports this year still account for less than 5% of the group's total sales. But its growth trend also means the outlook for Geely car exports. At present, Geely has been exported to Belarus, Malaysia and other 16 countries, including Dihao, Borey, Boyue and so on.

Looking at the other autonomous car companies on the top 10 list, there has been a decline in varying degrees, which is mainly due to the decline in market sales caused by the epidemic this year. The most obvious declines are Dongfeng Group and BAIC Group, which benefited from the export of new energy models last year, but this year, both export and domestic market performance are not satisfactory, and it is only natural to decline in the rankings.

Cui Dongshu, secretary general of the Federation, has also said that it is not easy for independent brands to go to sea, and the efforts made in the past two decades have not been smooth, resulting in continuous efforts. "after all, there is a certain gap between independent brand products and the requirements of the international market." especially in traditional fuel cars, there is a certain gap with the international level. in addition, the layout of overseas markets has not done much in-depth research, and many aspects have not laid a good foundation. Encountered a lot of difficulties. "

Therefore, compared with many foreign brands of German, Japanese and American brands, there is still a big gap, and the volume of overseas export sales is still small. However, in the view of Lang Xuehong, deputy secretary general of the China Automobile Circulation Association: "with the layout of car companies in overseas markets, their production capacity will also be gradually released, and car exports are expected to further expand in the future." As more and more independent car companies set up factories overseas for sales, it is believed that there is still room for improvement in the export volume of China's own brand car companies.
