Although it is an American vehicle safety testing institution, the crash score of IIHS still has a certain reference value.

From the collision results of Toyota Sienna, it achieved excellent results in 25% offset collision, including structural safety, driver protection and seat belt restraint system. BYD Song MAX has a P (poor) rating on important tests such as low-speed collisions, side collisions and 25% bias. Among them, in the most important 25% offset collision, the A-column of BYD Song MAX is bent and the door is also deformed and bounced open under pressure, so the overall performance is not optimistic. The Buick GL8, another MPV model, was also disappointed, with a P (poor) rating for low-speed and 25% offset crashes and an M (good) rating for side crashes. In the 25% offset collision, the A column of GL8 is also seriously deformed, the steering wheel displacement in the collision leads to the front airbag does not work, and the side head airbag does not deploy normally, which means that the probability of dummy survival is very low.

From the final result, BYD Song MAX got P (poor), P (poor) and G (excellent) in crashworthiness and maintenance economy, occupants and pedestrians outside the car, respectively, while Buick GL8 got P (poor), M (general), A (good) and G (excellent).
