A few days ago, Dongfeng Peugeot released official drawings of the appearance and interior of the new Peugeot 4008 and the new Peugeot 5008. The two new cars have been upgraded in design and are scheduled to go on sale in 2021.

Dongfeng Peugeot 4008 is based on overseas Peugeot 3008 models, the new car uses Peugeot's latest design language, the front face is more fashionable than the current style, and the logo is changed to a new style synchronized with overseas. The front face of the new car adopts the concept of frameless design, the front grille is decorated with dot matrix chrome plating, and the middle net is integrated with the headlights. In terms of headlights, the new car also continues Peugeot's latest "tear-eye style". The headlights have been redesigned to make the outline sharper, and two fanged LED daytime driving lights protrude from the lamp group.

From the side of the body, the new car uses a hidden B/C/ D-column design to create a suspended roof effect. The design of the tail continues the shape of the current model, the taillight is the classic "lion claw taillight", and uses the black design. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4510/1850/1628mm and the wheelbase is 2730.

The new 5008 positioning medium-sized SUV, as a medium-term revamped model, has been upgraded in design and uses a new family language. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4670 mm, 1855 and 1655 mm, respectively, and the wheelbase is 2840mm.

Both models offer 1.6T/1.8T turbocharged engines with maximum power of 170hp and 211hp, peak torque of 250Nm and 300Nm respectively, and the transmission system will match six-speed and eight-speed manual transmissions.

Interior decoration is also a highlight of French brands, and the official release also officially confirmed the interior style of the new car production in the future. The new 4008 and the new 5008 have high similarity in interior decoration, both adopt the driver-centered i-Cockpit cockpit, and at the same time use multi-function racing-style small spoke steering wheel, full liquid crystal instrument, central control piano keys, yacht-style electronic block handle, etc., creating an atmosphere of both scientific and technological sense and fashion sense of the whole car.

According to media sources, the medium-term changes of 4008 and 5008 will be officially put on sale in the first half of next year.

Data show that DPCA sold 5668 vehicles in November, down 22.1% from a year earlier to 43870 units from January to November, down 59.4% from last year. It can be expected that it will be very difficult for DPCA to sell more than 50,000 units in 2020. With the launch of a number of models, the main SUV4008, 5008 new models on the market, Dongfeng Peugeot and even DPCA can return to the track, is also something to look forward to.
