As soon as the new car was unveiled, it attracted the attention of the industry, but its cool appearance was questioned as "plagiarism", similar to GAC's co-creation. In response to this matter, GAC Wei Lai also made a response.

As the headlights of the new car design adopted the "tearful eyes" design, which is similar to the joint venture model of GAC NIO, netizens complained about its plagiarism. It is worth noting that in addition to the relatively similar shape of the new car, when Jiangling Group first unveiled Jiangling GSE, even the slogan adopted a similar "New Picture Vientiane to create the Future".

In response, GAC NIO responded through its official Weibo, saying "Welcome to learn and work together". However, this response was told by netizens that it was in the heat.

According to public information, GAC Lai New Energy Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. was established in April 2018 and is jointly owned by GAC GROUP, GAC NE, Lulai Fund, Lulai Automobile and the founding team. Guangzhou Qilai's brand "HYCAN Co-creation" was officially launched in 2019 and has launched only one model-Hechuang 007. At present, its three models are equipped with Ningde-era NCM811 batteries.

Although it has the same name as NIO, it is only a joint venture brand between GAC and NIO, and it does not perform well in the current new energy vehicle market. Sales data show that GAC NIO 007 sold only 562 vehicles in the five months from May to September 2020. The results are really not impressive. Therefore, it is not too much to be accused of rubbing heat.

As a matter of fact, it is not the first time that Guang Qi Wei has come to rub against the heat. In October, other car brands caught fire due to the use of Ningde era 811 batteries. Guang Qi Wei Lai's official Weibo also officially issued the statement: "if the car catches fire due to the 811 battery of Ningde era, the whole vehicle will pay for it!" In the letter of commitment, GAC NIO also publicly advocated: "all battery car manufacturers in the industry using Ningde era make a joint commitment to protect the rights and interests of users!"

When the letter of commitment was issued, it quickly attracted attention both inside and outside the industry. Compared with the various safety promises made by other car companies, Guang Qi Wei appears to be very sincere. However, he apologized the next day, saying that he hastily urged the whole industry to follow suit.

From the point of view of the GSE model design released by Jiangling Group, it is exactly the same as the GAC NIO 007, especially the closed grille design, the flat front face design with eye-catching "tear-eye" LED headlights on both sides, and the same design trapezoidal forward air port.

Although the GSE is the first all-electric model in the joint venture between Jiangling and Renault, positioning the A-class electric car, while GAC Xilai is a SUV model, both cars use the "tearful eyes" design to echo the front of the car.

It is understood that Renault and Jiangling announced a new energy vehicle industry cooperation as early as the end of 2018, and Renault Group has become an important shareholder of Jiangxi Jiangling Group New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. After that, Renault Group will provide financial support to help Jiangling Group's new energy development.
