Affected by the general environment, bulk consumption capacity has declined, and the sales of many low-cost models nearly halved in the first half of the year. As it slowly returns to normal, some brands eventually fail this winter, while others, such as Toyota, lack existing cars because of sales. Today, Zhao Changjiang, general manager of BYD Automobile sales Co., Ltd., said that BYD Han has to wait because of insufficient production capacity.

"at present, Han still has insufficient production capacity, and it takes about eight weeks to place an order," Zhao said on Weibo in the early morning of January 6. "Please understand this." This means that the sales of BYD Han models have reached the current production capacity due to the current hot market.

Some netizens commented on Zhao Changjiang's personal Weibo that the Han model "has at least 20, 000 orders on hand", and it also responded. And at the bottom of the Weibo, we can also see that many netizens commented that they had decided to make up their mind, but they were unable to pick up the car for a long time, and in various major automobile forums, there were comments by car owners that they had to wait for the car for a long time. It can be seen that the BYD Han model does have a certain sales support, and demand has exceeded supply.

According to the latest sales figures released by BYD a few days ago, BYD Han model sales reached 12089 in December, an increase of 19.6% from the previous month, with sales exceeding 10,000 for two consecutive months, with a cumulative sales of 40556 vehicles. Since it went public in July. The model shows an upward trend, continuously achieving a month-on-month rise. However, the official did not specifically disclose the sales of Chinese models.

At present, BYD Han is selling two models: Han EV (pure electricity) and Han DM (hybrid), both of which are new energy models with a price of more than 200000 yuan. The lack of production capacity of BYD Han model is mainly due to the fact that its independently developed "blade battery" is in short supply. Of these, only Han EV (pure electricity) carries this battery, while Han DM (hybrid) still carries ternary lithium batteries. Since its launch, Han EV (pure electric) models have been higher than Han DM (hybrid) models, so it is speculated that capacity is limited mainly by Han EV (pure electric) models. Up to now, BYD has established production bases in Shenzhen, Xi'an, Qinghai, Chongqing, Changsha and Guiyang.

It is precisely because BYD Han as a high-end electric model, the subsidised price of 219800 yuan is lower than the competitor Tesla Model 3 and Xiaopeng P7. At the same time, the advantages of 4750MM length + 2890MM wheelbase space, 5.1s 100km acceleration, 3.7s breaking 100s of high-performance version, and FSD technology are all advantages for the car to attract potential consumers.

However, compared with the competitive model, the EV version of the BYD Han model, the long-range competitive model at lower temperatures, is what the owners want BYD to improve. After all, the mileage is extremely important for electric cars.

Thanks to the launch of the Biya Dihan model, it helped the brand reduce the decline in sales for the whole of this year. Among them, BYD's sales of new energy vehicles in December 2020 were 28841, an increase of 120.177% over the same period last year, which was also the biggest increase of BYD's new energy vehicles this year. Sales of fuel vehicles fell 8.64 per cent year-on-year to 27481.

Complementing the increase and decline in sales, BYD still sold 56322 vehicles in December, up 30.44% from a year earlier. To 426972 vehicles in 2020, down 7.46% from the same period last year, the decline has narrowed.
