According to foreign media IT News in South Korea, Apple and Hyundai plan to sign a cooperation agreement by March this year and start producing cars in the United States around 2024.

In fact, news of the cooperation between the two sides came to light as early as last Friday, when it was reported that Hyundai would launch a self-driving electric car in 2027. It is reported that Hyundai has stated that the model will be co-operated by Apple, eventually causing Hyundai's share price to soar.

Hyundai reiterated that it was in contact with Apple in response to this report, but it is currently in the preliminary stage of discussion and there is no resolution yet. Apple did not immediately respond.

Then the media released a new report again, deleting the part involving Apple, which made the outside world feel more intriguing. According to the latest report, Apple and Hyundai plan to produce cars at Kia's plant in Georgia, and may also co-invest to build a new plant in the United States. The new car will be produced around 2024 at the earliest, with an initial annual production capacity of 100000 vehicles and a final annual production capacity of 400000 vehicles. The two sides plan to sign a cooperation agreement before March this year.

The detailed reports from this foreign media reflect that negotiations have basically begun on the cooperation between Hyundai Motor and Apple. If the cooperation is successful, Apple will also take the lead in choosing the mode of cooperation and contract manufacturing with Hyundai. After all, this is more beneficial to Apple. It can also push the project to the ground faster.

However, it is also reported that Hyundai is not alone in negotiating that Apple is looking for contract manufacturers. At first, it also went to Mercedes-Benz, but it has not yet made a decision on which car company to choose, so it will be speculation before the news is officially announced. According to Hyundai, the company is currently only receiving plans from a few partner companies.

In fact, in December last year, Apple was exposed by the Taiwan media that it had recently carried out stock preparation with auto parts factories in Taiwan, including Heda, FTU-KY, Heqin, Futian, and so on, which was considered by the outside world to be promoting Apple's car plan, and may make its debut this year, sparking a discussion.

Although Apple did not comment on some of the reports, Apple has always had plans to enter the auto industry. When NIO brought its third production model, ET7, on Jan. 9, Li Bin, founder of NIO, also said that its short-term competitor, Mercedes-Benz BMW Audi, could be a long-term competitor to Apple.
