According to media reports, the new GAC Chuanqi GA4 will be officially launched in the first quarter of this year. As an annual model, the new GAC Chuanqi GA4 will adopt a brand-new appearance design, and the power will be equipped with a 1.5T three-cylinder engine.

Compared with the current model, the new GAC Chuanqi GA4 has obvious changes in appearance. The front face adopts a larger size front grille design, and the interior of the grille adopts a new style and blackened treatment, which looks a lot younger. LED headlights on both sides have also been adjusted, and the front bumper fog lamp area has also been changed to an air intake, which is much sharper than the current model. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4735/1805/1500mm respectively, the wheelbase is 2660mm, and the length is increased.

The new GA4 follows the layout of the old model in terms of interior, still adopts three-spoke steering wheel, 10.25-inch central control large screen and 7-inch full LCD instrument panel are connected together, a large number of physical buttons are retained, and the overall design is still biased towards tradition.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 1.5T three-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 120kw and a maximum torque of 235N·m. It is matched with a 7-speed wet dual clutch transmission. A 5-speed manual transmission will still be provided on low-profile models.

It is understood that the current GAC Chuanqi GA4 model was launched and sold in January 2018, and the appearance follows the design style of Chuanqi family. In terms of power, GAC Chuanqi GA4 offers 1.3T and 1.5L engine configurations, with maximum power of 84kw and 101kw, peak torque of 150N·m and 202N·m.

From the above data, although the new Chuanqi GA4 is equipped with a 1.5T three-cylinder engine, its power output is no less than the previous 1.3T and 1.5L four-cylinder engines.

According to the data, the cumulative sales volume of GAC Chuanqi GA4 in 2018 was 36266 vehicles, the sales volume in 2019 was 9308 vehicles, and the cumulative sales volume in November before 2020 was only 2037 vehicles, with a year-on-year decline of 77.26%, mainly affected by the national VI emission standard.

From the market point of view, consumers generally accept the three-cylinder engine is not high, due to physical factors three-cylinder engine has jitter, irregular operation, noise and other characteristics, manufacturers can only solve through various technical means, each manufacturer's optimization effect is also very different. From the above analysis, under the premise that the power output and torque performance are better than that of the old Chuanqi GA4, if the price is lowered, it can still be recognized by certain consumers.
