A few days ago, FAW-Volkswagen announced that its ID.4 CROZZ was officially listed, and the price of the initial version after subsidy did not exceed 250,000 yuan.

As the first pure electric vehicle of Volkswagen ID family, the ID.4 CROZZ of FAW-Volkswagen is the first to be listed. The new car is built based on Volkswagen MEB platform and positioned as compact pure electric SUV. At present, 5 models are promoted for consumers to choose. The price after subsidy is 1999 - 279,900 yuan.

When the car opened for pre-sale, Volkswagen also brought ID.4X of SAIC Volkswagen version at the same time. As the double-car strategy of the brand in China, it is only that the SAIC Volkswagen version has not been listed yet. It is expected that the price level of the two will not differ too much. After all, SAIC Volkswagen once announced that its subsidized price will not exceed 250,000 yuan.

It is understood that the new car is built based on Volkswagen MEB exclusive pure electric platform, adopts younger family-style appearance, interior design, and makes detailed adjustments on the basis of overseas models. Compared with FAW-Volkswagen ID.4 CROZZ, SAIC-Volkswagen ID.4 has made localized improvement on the appearance of overseas models, which is different from FAW-Volkswagen ID.4 as a whole.

The front and rear of the new car come standard with through-going LED headlights, which consist of 11 independent LED groups, each of which can be turned off or dimmed individually or programmed. Overall, the shape of the vehicle is very sporty, and the bumper creates an "X" profile, which is highly recognizable. At the rear part, FAW-Volkswagen version adopts 3D LED tail lamp group consistent with overseas version, and the rear bumper shape is more concise, and the lower part is made of large black plastic material.

The interior design is similar to Volkswagen ID.3, still maintaining the central control design of Volkswagen ID. series. The overall geometric style is composed of straight lines and folded corners. The minimalist design style better highlights the technological attributes of this electric vehicle.

Dynamically, the new car offers four power versions, the entry version ID.4 Pure, with a maximum horsepower of 109kW and a peak torque of 220N ·m; the most powerful ID.4 ProPerformance version has a maximum power of 150kW and a maximum torque of 310Nm. On the battery side, Pure comes with a 55kWh battery pack, while ID.4 Pro comes with an 83kWh battery and a maximum range of 550km.

Although the pure electric vehicles launched by Volkswagen are later than many traditional vehicles and new forces, including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Tesla, etc., for most traditional car companies, the reason why Volkswagen is slow is because it has spent a lot of money on its own exclusive electric platform. In any case, Volkswagen, the giant of traditional fuel car manufacturers, has accelerated its electric transformation, which is obviously more radical than some Japanese car companies.

According to Volkswagen's sales results for 2020, sales fell 15.2% year-on-year to 9.3 million units. But for the public, it doesn't seem to mind. On the contrary, the public deserves to celebrate because of the obvious performance of the new energy market. For new force car enterprises, the current domestic price of Model Y is 339,900 yuan, Volkswagen ID.4 if the top match does not exceed 250,000 yuan, then the price gap has reached 90,000 yuan, so the advantage is obvious, as for how the market performance can only be seen by consumers.
