There is also an industry analysis of the accident mainly because the current NIO model only reaches the L2 automatic driving technology, and it is difficult to identify the "speed" during driving, because the L2 driving technology can identify but cannot predict. Whether it is a pure camera scheme or a millimeter wave radar, the recognition ability of stationary objects in the L2 scheme is relatively weak. There are many reasons, but these two are the most important:

First, although millimeter wave radar itself has the ability to identify stationary objects, in order to improve the ability to identify vehicles and perceive fusion, it will deliberately filter out "stationary objects". Second, L2's vision algorithm itself has difficulty distinguishing real objects (such as stationary cars ahead) from fake ones (reflective spots or shadows). And in order to filter out shadows (especially white), a layer of rules is added to the algorithm-static objects are treated as "reflective" and not treated (one theory is that engineers believe that the occurrence of completely static vehicles is extremely low). So a lot of autopilot accidents are collisions with white or silver cars.
