Mr. Qiu said that on January 14, it drove Audi A4L to Nanyang Town, Henan Province. At ordinary times, it hit a sign post on Ping an Avenue to avoid an emergency, causing the front of the car to be seriously deformed and the anti-collision beam crashed into a U shape. But none of the airbags ejected. Afterwards, the insurance company analyzed the vehicle, and the maintenance cost reached about 100000 yuan, which almost reached the scrapping standard.

Mr. Qiu said that in such a collision, none of the airbags were opened, and it was suspected that there might be defects or quality problems. However, the response from the Riodi 4S store in Pingdingshan was that the vehicle hit at the wrong point and did not meet the conditions to trigger the airbag. Prior to this, the concern of the automobile industry also reported that a Tuguan L collided on the highway, all the front wheels fell off, and the collision bar sank into a big pit, but none of the airbags ejected, and the manufacturer replied that "there was no right place."

Mr. Qiu said that since the manufacturer carries out remote technical analysis of the vehicle, the 4S store should issue a written test report. If such an accident occurs, it is definitely not possible to give an oral reply.

So why did the airbag not eject when the Audi A4L collided? Can you provide Mr. Qiu with the corresponding test report?

In response to the above questions, 4S store service director said that the accident is a typical impact column accident, the impact point is in the middle of the vehicle, most of the impact force buffer is borne by the water tank, engine and front anti-collision steel beam and other parts. The diagnostic report read by the computer shows that the seat belt has been triggered at the time of the collision, and the airbag control unit has also read and identified the records of the accident in the front of the vehicle and the trigger of the airbag.

It said that seat belt triggers, like airbags, are passive safety devices on vehicles. The car has already triggered the seat belt at the time of the accident, through the current analysis of the current situation, the vehicle only needs to trigger the seat belt to protect the passengers, so there is no need to trigger the airbag. In addition, through the observation of the interior decoration of the vehicle, it is not found that the seat and dashboard have obvious displacement and cracks after the impact. Finally, the analysis result given by the manufacturer is that the airbag works normally and the vehicle has no quality problems.

As for whether the corresponding test report can be provided? The 4S store service director said that it was only a verbal communication of the manufacturer's remote analysis results, which did not belong to the test report, so it could not be provided.

It is understood that. The Audi A4L purchased by Mr. Qiu was recalled once in October 2014 because of airbag-related problems. FAW-Volkswagen recalled 4692 imported Audi A4allroad cars and 265943 domestic Audi A4L vehicles produced between May 25, 2012 and October 22, 2014, totaling 270635, according to the website of the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration.

The reason for the recall is due to the problem of setting the software parameters of the airbag control unit. In the case of a very few special side angle collisions, the front airbag may not be opened correctly and there are hidden dangers. In view of the above defects, FAW-Volkswagen will carry out software upgrades for the airbag control units of vehicles within the scope of the recall in order to eliminate safety risks.

It is understood that Mr. Qiu's Audi A4L is also within the scope of the recall and completed the software upgrade in 2016, but why the airbag still does not eject normally after the software upgrade, whether it is true as said by the 4S store service director or for another reason, it is worth paying attention to.
