New car sales in the first month of this year continued the performance of the market in 2020, with the vast majority of car companies achieving year-on-year growth in the New year. According to data released by Xilai, a total of 7225 new cars were delivered in January 2021, an increase of 352.1% over the same period last year, setting a new record for the sixth month in a row. NIO's three models are all selling well, of which the flagship electric SUV Lailai ES8 delivers 1660 units; Lvlai ES6 delivers 2720 units; sedan car SUV Lailai EC6 delivers 2845 units, surpassing ES6 models again and reaching a new high, leading the high-end sedan SUV market. It can be said that EC6 has taken up the sales volume and has become the highest-selling model for two months in a row.

On January 1 this year, Tesla Model Y went public through a sharp reduction in price. In terms of model and price, NIO is the primary competitor. Affected by this, there were a large number of returns and rumors of transfer orders, and then came to deny the news. Sales at NIO continued to hit a record high in January this year. It can be seen that it is not affected by Tesla's related model price measures.

In order to maintain a stable sales performance, NIO has launched its fourth model and its first car model ET7, which is based on the second-generation NP2 platform. Delivery of the car will not begin until the first quarter of 2022 at the earliest, meaning there is still a year left to help Wei improve its performance quickly.

After the ideal car began to be delivered, Xiaopeng's sales performance has been in the ideal, Xiaopeng even after the launch of its new car P7, relying on two models is not as good as the ideal car performance. In terms of annual sales in 2020, nearly 5000 of the sales were driven by ideal cars.

Xiaopeng Motor has also achieved growth in 2021. According to Xiaopeng Motor sales data in January, the total delivery volume of Xiaopeng Automobile reached 6015, an increase of 470% over the same period last year, doubling for seven consecutive months and setting the best delivery record in history for the third consecutive month. Among them, the monthly delivery of Xiaopeng P7 reached a record high of 3710, with a cumulative delivery of 18772. Xiaopeng G3 delivered 2305 units a month, an increase of 118% over the same period last year. Now Xiaopeng P7 has surpassed G3 to become its sales responsibility.

Some netizens pointed out that Xiaopeng Motor was the first to release January sales at this time, or to hedge the negative impact of a large number of G3 recalls. As the impact of the Xiaopeng G3 recall has not been completely eliminated, Xiaopeng decided to recall some of the Xiaopeng G3 vehicles produced from March 29, 2019 to September 27, 2020, a total of 13399 vehicles. Because the recall notice was issued in January, it is likely to affect Xiaopeng's sales in February.

As the dark horse of the new power in 2020, ideal car sales in December also had the largest year-on-year increase of 530%, much higher than the other two car companies, but in January this year, ideal car sales declined. Ideal car sales in January totaled 5379, an increase of 355.8% over the same period last year, but lower than the 6126 in the previous month, becoming the only one among the "top three" whose sales declined in January compared with the previous month. It also means that six consecutive months of month-on-month growth has been interrupted.

At present, NIO and Xiaopeng have laid out a number of models for sale, and the optional models are more abundant, while the ideal ONE is the only one on sale, coupled with the less choice of electric car products in Class 300000, the ideal ONE and the small size of Tesla Model Y also form a direct competitive relationship, with the gradual delivery of Model Y, the advantage of the ideal ONE will be further weakened. In this regard, in order to achieve sustained and steady growth, it may be necessary to expand the product matrix through the introduction of new models to achieve sales growth. According to the official response of the ideal car, the full-size SUV will be launched in 2022, so the ideal car still faces great challenges in the market.
