Evergrande's first model will be built on Evergrande's EM3 platform, a mid-to-high-end pure electric vehicle platform that can be built into four models, including SUV, Sedan (large sedan), MPV and SLV, with an annual output of 87000 vehicles, with the earliest model being mass-produced in August 2022, meaning the first model will go on sale at the end of next year, according to a newly released document.

The "Hengchi" model of Evergrande was exposed at the low end of last year, and the news about Evergrande never stopped, perhaps because Evergrande attracted more capital investment to increase the market share price of Evergrande and accelerated the layout of the model. However, according to Evergrande's current plans, the first mass-produced model has not yet been unveiled, but its market capitalization has ranked fourth on the list of domestic automakers, second only to BYD, Ulay and Great Wall.

But there is no doubt that there are doubts inside and outside the industry that there is no model to support the high market capitalization. After all, Evergrande is not a car company, but a cross-border enterprise, through the concept can absorb a lot of capital to invest, to achieve capital expansion, there have been many cases before.

Therefore, Evergrande's frequent promotion plans and publicity seem to reflect Evergrande's car-building vision. since the launch of Evergrande Automobile in August 2020, a total of Hengchi 1, Hengchi 2, Hengchi 3, Hengchi 4, Hengchi 5 and Hengchi 6 have been released, covering A to D class models, as well as cars, sedan cars, SUV, MPV and crossovers. And the Hengchi car logo was officially released in the same year.

According to the plan, Evergrande "Hengchi" series models will be mass produced in the second half of 2021. After the production workshop reaches full production, it will be able to produce one car per minute. According to the plan, Evergrande will achieve annual production capacity of about 1 million vehicles by 2025 and 5 million by 2035. At present, the two major production bases in Shanghai and Guangzhou have started trial production at the end of 2020.

In December last year, the exterior and interior of the Hengchi 1 model were exposed, and there was a market promotion of the new model by Evergrande. Recently, Xu Jiayin, president of Evergrande Group, also personally launched the winter calibration test of Hengchi cars at the China Automotive Research Inner Mongolia Yakeshi test base. 10 Hengchi cars were tested in extremely cold weather of minus 35 degrees and complex ice and snow road conditions. At the end of January, Evergrande also issued 952 million new shares to six investors, attracting a total of 26 billion Hong Kong dollars. This is one of the largest equity financing in the new energy vehicle industry. In just four months, Evergrande has won a total of 30 billion Hong Kong dollars of financing, which shows the strong ability to attract money. Coupled with recent news, Evergrande's share price has soared again, with a market capitalization of 462.87 billion Hong Kong dollars (385.9 billion yuan), nearly double that of last September.

Now it seems that Evergrande, which has not yet achieved mass production, is running wild under the leadership of Xu Jiayin. At present, China's Evergrande, which is mainly engaged in real estate, has a market capitalization of HK $198.854 billion, well below Evergrande's market capitalization of nearly HK $400 billion. That's why Xia Haijun, president of Evergrande, previously said that Evergrande's strategic transformation was successful.

It is worth mentioning that since Evergrande Global Battery Research Institute unveiled at the end of last year, Evergrande battery research and development speed has also far exceeded expectations. At the winter test site recently, Li Junxiu, president of Evergrande Battery Research Institute (former president of Korea SK Group Battery Research Institute), reported to Xu Jiayin the latest test progress of battery thermal management performance, extremely cold mileage, charge and discharge and other items. Li Junxiu said that the power batteries independently developed by Evergrande have reached the world's leading technological level and are scheduled for mass production in the second half of this year.

From these signs, Evergrande can have a certain degree of confidence in Hengchi, but also indicates that Evergrande Group will gradually transform from a housing company to a car company. But it is also because Evergrande has been "spending money" to achieve "changing lanes to overtake" all the way. Evergrande, which smashed out a car-building road through capital, was also shouting loudly. In the words of Xu Jiayin, Evergrande wants to change lanes to overtake. To sum up, the five words are: buy, buy, circle, big, good. " He also said that with the help of so many leading companies on Evergrande's car-building road, it is difficult not to succeed.

Such a high-profile approach has undoubtedly attracted much attention both inside and outside the industry, and the layout of models has not been seen for many years, but the market value has soared, so that outsiders question whether Evergrande is capital investment or diligent industry, but this can only be verified by time and the market.
