On January 25th, CEO Liao Bing said on his Weibo that "he has officially resigned from all administrative positions of CEO and its subsidiaries and subsidiaries on the 22nd!" At that time, many media reported that Liao Bing, as a veteran of the Guangzhou Automobile Department, may return the car to the Guangzhou Automobile Department after leaving the post of CEO.

However, just 10 days after leaving office, Liao Bing posted three pictures on Weibo with the caption "Beautiful time, Free mood". Judging from the relevant pictures released, the signatories include Henan Senyuan Group Co., Ltd., Freedom (Shenzhen) New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd., and Beijing Xinding Rongsheng Capital Management Co., Ltd., the most important of which is Freedom (Shenzhen) New Energy vehicle Co., Ltd., it is not difficult to see that the company is oriented to the new energy vehicle industry, and "Free Automobile" is Liao Bing's latest new energy vehicle brand.

According to Tianyan check information, Free Automobile (Shenzhen) New Energy Automobile Technology Co., Ltd. was established on February 2, 2021, with a registered capital of 100 million yuan, and the legal representative is Liao Bing. Operating projects include new energy vehicle technical services, automotive engineering research and development, automobile sales and so on. The equity penetration map shows that Free Automobile (Shenzhen) New Energy Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. has three major shareholders, and 60% of Beijing Xinding Gree equipment Engineering Co., Ltd. is the largest shareholder. Guangzhou Broadway Investment Partnership (limited partnership) and Zhang Yan are the second and third shareholders respectively, and Liao Bing is the actual controller of the three companies.

At present, Liao Bing's Weibo profile has been changed to "Free car founder and CEO", but the Weibo certification has not been changed. On Feb. 5, Liao Bing posted on Weibo, "after three days, I can't change the Weibo nickname. I must complain."

Data show that Liao Bing has worked in Guangzhou Automobile Honda, Guangzhou Automobile parts and Guangzhou Automobile Fick and GAC R&D CENTER, and participated in R & D and management. Guangzhou Automobile NIO was established in April 2018, and Liao Bing served as CEO of Guangzhou Automobile NIO.

Although Guang Qi Wei Lai relies on GAC GROUP and NIO Automobile, its development is not as smooth as expected. In April 2020, HYCAN, the brand of GAC NIO, officially launched its first model, HYCAN 007, with a subsidised sale price of 26.26-303000 yuan and a comprehensive mileage 643km. Data show that only 659 new cars have been sold since the HYCAN 007 went on sale, with an average monthly sales of about 80.

The specific reasons for Liao Bing's resignation as Guang Qi Wei Lai CEO have not been announced, but speculation may have a lot to do with the current situation of Guangzhou Qi Wei Lai. As for Guangzhou Auto's CEO successor, there are media reports that Yang Ying will become Guangzhou Automobile CEO. Yang Ying is also a veteran of Guangzhou Automobile Department. Yang Ying once served as Vice Minister of sales of GAC MOTOR Co., Ltd., General Manager of GAC MOTOR sales Company, and Deputy General Manager of GAC MOTOR (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd., but the news has not been officially confirmed.

With the withdrawal of subsidies and the decline in sales, the new power of Chinese car-making companies have accelerated to enter the knockout stage of the industry. At present, large-scale markets can be formed in China, including NIO, Xiaopeng, ideal, Weima, Hezhong, Zero, and so on. Other brands either have mass production but sales are low, or they have been marginalized before the launch of the first model. Car brands say the situation is even more difficult.

After the "collapse" of car brands, the capital market has also become more cautious about investing in new car brands. In the context of the basic formation of the market pattern of new energy vehicles, and Liao Bing leaves office to launch free cars, the risk of this entry is obviously greater, and whether the market can break the situation can only be left to the market to be tested.
