According to the declaration chart, the new model has changed greatly from the current Tusheng model, completely abandoning the design style of the old model and adopting the modern family's "Sensuous Sportiness" design language, mainly creating a strong sense of trend and future. At the same time, the headlights also adopt a split design.

The sides of the car body are also rich in sharp lines, with horizontal and longitudinal waistlines obvious. As a global model, the first generation model was launched in China in June 2005, but after several years of sales, the second generation model of the Tusheng series was released at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2009. The new car did not continue the name of Tusheng, but was named Hyundai ix35. Its domestic version was officially launched in China in 2010. At the same time, the domestic Laotusheng did not stop production and was sold in the same hall as Hyundai ix35. In 2013, Hyundai ix35 underwent a mid-term redesign, and the front face began to adopt the latest design concept of the family.

Although Tucson and ix35 now form a misplaced competition, in which Tucson is up against the joint venture compact SUV market, while ix35 competes with domestic models through price exploration, both models are not performing as well as before.

In 2020, with the help of many new products, Beijing Hyundai has not made great progress, but has sunk deeper and deeper into the sales quagmire. According to sales data, Beijing Hyundai sold 502,000 vehicles for the whole year, down nearly 30% from 2019.
