AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)02/11 Report--

Compared with fuel models, pure electric models do not appear for a long time, and there are a lot of concerns, resulting in hybrid models become the first choice for some consumers. Recently, Shanghai has taken the lead in introducing a new policy on new energy vehicles, and plug-in hybrid models will no longer give green cards from 2023, meaning that citizens can only choose pure electric models if they want to be more easily licensed in the future.

According to the latest news released by Shanghai Development and Reform Wechat official account, in order to effectively promote energy conservation and emission reduction and promote the development of new energy vehicle industry, Shanghai has issued the Shanghai measures to encourage the purchase and use of New Energy vehicles, which will enter into force on March 1, 2021 and will be valid until December 31, 2023.

The new method adjusts the requirements of individuals applying for new energy special license quota. Those who do not use this city's special license quota to register new energy vehicles may continue to apply for new energy special license quota free of charge. At the same time, buyers of plug-in hybrid vehicles must meet the requirements of charging facilities in Shanghai, and there is no Shanghai non-commercial bus quota certificate, there are no vehicles registered with non-commercial bus quota (excluding motorcycles).

It is worth mentioning that the new "implementation measures" also propose that Shanghai will no longer issue a special license quota for consumers who buy plug-in hybrid cars (including incremental cars) from January 1, 2023. This means that the mixed models just launched by some car companies will be affected to a certain extent.

In this regard, many netizens discussed, in the netizens' view, the implementation of the new method makes the application of new energy vehicles more stringent, especially the restrictions on plug-in hybrid (including incremental) vehicles. In addition, the suspension of license plates for mixed models will not be implemented until 2023, indicating that the policy gives a certain transition period, and it also means that mixed models can only "live" for two years in Shanghai.

It is not difficult to see that Shanghai took the lead in abolishing the restrictions on mixed models in order to promote pure electric models, and the cancelled models included added programs. As the country promotes the pace of new energy vehicles, it does not rule out that other cities will introduce similar policies one after another.

In the past two years, as there are still concerns about pure electric models, more and more automakers hope to ease this concern by adding programmed models, but now it seems that the introduction of this policy will once again affect their plans. For example, it has recently been revealed that ideal Motors revealed in a conference call that the brand's second car, codenamed X01, is scheduled to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2022 and will be equipped with lidar. According to previous news, the car is still an added model, which undoubtedly shows that the new car cannot be sold in Shanghai as soon as it is launched, which is indeed a problem. After all, Shanghai is also one of the important markets for ideal cars.

Compared with mixed models, pure electric models will usher in better development. after all, consumers who choose mixed models now use them as fuel models, and choose mixed models more for "license plate". With the disqualification of mixed models, consumers can only choose pure electric models if they want to get a license more easily in the future.

According to the China Automobile Association, domestic sales of new energy vehicles in January have set a record for seven months in a row. Production and sales reached 194000 and 179000 respectively, with year-on-year increases of 285.8 per cent and 238.5 per cent respectively. Of these, the production and sales of pure electric vehicles completed 166000 and 151000 respectively, up 366.6% and 287.8% respectively over the same period last year, while the production and sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles completed 28000 and 29000 vehicles respectively, up 92.4% and 104.7% respectively over the same period last year.

It means that the market has gradually shifted from mixed models to pure electric models. After all, in the state subsidy market in the past two years, the sales volume of mixed models is much higher than that of pure electric models, which reflects the increasing acceptance of pure electric models by consumers. Mixed models will gradually complete the mission of "transition".
