As for own-brand models, as a SUV model, Great Wall's Harvard H6 sells 45815 vehicles. Since the launch of the third-generation Harvard H6 in August last year, Great Wall has mainly launched the third-generation H6 in August, implementing the same-house sales strategy and extending the H6 product line to strengthen market competition. Although the performance of Changan CS75 lags behind that of Harvard H6, monthly sales also exceeded 40, 000 to 41600, up 67.3% from a year earlier.

Two independent Geely models appear on the list. The monthly sales of the SUV model Boyue rose 21.5% year-on-year to 29205 vehicles, making it one of the three independent SUV on the list. Dihao, a sedan model, sold 24600 cars, an increase of 10.7% over the same period last year, making it the only self-branded car model on the list.

In addition, SAIC GM Wuling has two models on the list, the MPV model Wuling Hongguang sold 30242 in January, and the pure electric sedan Wuling Hongguang MINI sold 25778 in that month.

From the overall list, although the models of independent brands on the list are lower than those of joint venture brands, the models on the list are higher than before. According to the China Automobile Association, sales of Chinese branded passenger cars in January 2021 were 867000, up 42.6% from a year earlier, with a market share of 42.4%. It was the only department market that achieved growth, while German, Japanese, American, Korean and French all declined. To a certain extent, it reflects that independent brands do have obvious growth, and some models can compete with joint venture brands.
