South Korean carmaker Kia Motors officially released a new brand logo on January 6, which is still dominated by the letter "KIA", with three letters in conjoined design, in which the "I" and "A" letters are shared in strokes, while eliminating the oval outline, making it more concise and smooth as a whole.

On February 17, Kia released the new Kia K8 official map. The new car is the first model with a new LOGO after Kia released its brand logo. The new product naming and brand logo indicate the upward development of Kia, and the K8 model will also become a new design direction for Kia in the future.

From the official view, the new Kia K8 uses a new design language and uses a frameless "tiger nose" grille, which is larger than that of the K7 model. The irregular net style is integrated with the front of the car, the LED headlights on the left and right sides are relatively sharp, and there are several muscle lines above the hood to highlight the sense of power.

From the side of the car body, Kia K8 does not use the current popular hidden door handle design, the huge back shape is the most prominent feature of K8, similar to the domestic Kia K5 Kaiku. The waistline on the door is extended to the rear and connected to the taillight, and the body is decorated with chrome strips. The taillight adopts the through-type taillight design, and does not adopt the domestic K5 Kaiku dot matrix design. In terms of size, the length of the new car is 5015mm, which is in line with the positioning of medium and large vehicles.

As for the interior layout and powertrain of the new car, there is no specific information yet. However, because Kia K8 and Hyundai Yazun are built on the same platform, with reference to Hyundai Yazun's powertrain, it is equipped with a 2.5L naturally aspirated engine with a maximum power of 198 horsepower and a peak torque of 253N ·m. Equipped with 3.3L V6 naturally aspirated engine, the maximum power is 290hp and the peak torque is 350N ·m, which is matched by 8AT gearbox.

It is understood that since the launch of its first model in November 2009, Kia K7 has sold a total of 501000 vehicles in the global market as of last year, including 401200 in its home market and 99800 overseas. Compared with the previous K7, the K8 released by Kia may be improved in terms of positioning, design, production capacity and so on. K8, as a replacement of K7, has more information about the car's performance in the future and whether it will be introduced into the domestic market. It has yet to be further announced by the authorities.
