AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)02/21 Report--
Nissan Qijun is one of the best-selling models of Nissan, whether it is in China or North America. With the sale of cash models for many years, the new Qijun will also go on sale this year. But surprisingly, the new car was given a two-star rating by the "safety rating" before it went on sale.
According to foreign media reports, the US auto safety agency NHTSA recently conducted a crash test on Nissan's new Qijun, and the overall safety test of the new car was rated as "four stars" (with a full score of five stars), meaning that the model did not meet the agency's highest standards. The main reason is that its co-driver performed poorly in the frontal collision, winning only two stars.
From Nissan Xinqijun's frontal crash of 35 miles per hour, Nissan Xinqijun's frontal collapse and hood lift are serious, but because the airbags have popped up to protect the safety of members of the car, the main driver gets 4 stars, while the co-driver gets only 2 stars, pulling down the overall average.
In the side collision test, because the active safety system is complete, the side collision performance of the new car is good, and the front and rear passengers are well protected, so it has been evaluated by five stars.
And in the more difficult tumbling test, the new Qijun also got a good result of four stars, reaching the average level of the same level. So on the whole, in this crash test, the biggest problem is that the safety of the co-driver has lowered the comprehensive score of the whole vehicle.
However, Nissan officials also issued a response after learning about the crash results, saying it was caused by the passenger restraint device (seat belt). Nissan also explained that the test cars were produced at the Kyushu plant in Japan before January 28, 2021, with a total of about 50,000. All vehicles produced at the Kyushu plant after January 28 have been updated with the front passenger seat belt restraint system, so the two-star score is only applicable to vehicles produced at the Kyushu plant before January 28.
For this safety test, Nissan said it was satisfied with the overall 4-star NCAP safety level of Xinqi Jun. However, Nissan hopes to undergo another NHTSA test for Xinqijun, which is expected to get results in May.
Although the "make-up examination" of car models by car companies can save the "face" of models to a certain extent, the safety evaluation of safety agencies has always been conducted through spot checks, and if car companies make targeted adjustments to their models for the sake of "test-oriented education," that obviously shows that car companies do not really build cars for the sake of consumer safety, which is undoubtedly not the responsibility of an excellent car company. In this regard, it is also hoped that car companies will conduct a number of tests before building cars, and then achieve mass production models, so as to improve their own reputation.
Data show that NHTSA is the abbreviation of the US Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and its full name is National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in English. Because of its high authority and impartiality, its annual evaluation results are not only recognized by consumers in the United States, but also regarded as the authoritative standard for car purchase by consumers all over the world. and undertake the important responsibility of ensuring that all kinds of vehicles must comply with the requirements of motor vehicle safety regulations. NHTSA mainly assesses the vehicle safety of five stars by measuring the full two-way (front and side) impact suffered by the simulator.
