It is reported that Mr. Xu's Volkswagen Touguan L was bought in July 2017 and the naked car cost 270000 yuan, but it suddenly broke down just a few days ago. According to Mr. Xu, the car could not be reversed when it was parked in the neighborhood and it was useless to restart it, which showed an electrical failure and returned to normal after the third restart.

Subsequently, Mr. Xu drove the vehicle to the auto repair shop and found that there was an electrical fault with the gearbox sensor. After eliminating the fault code, the car has returned to normal, but if there is another problem, the parts need to be replaced, the price is about 10,000 yuan. Mr. Xu said that the staff said this was a common problem, and then Mr. Xu looked it up on the Internet and found that many Tuguan L had a similar situation.

According to the "2020 SUV complaint Index ranking TOP10" report released by Automobile door Network, Tuguan L ranks third with a complaint index of 1366. The typical problem is the failure of the electromechanical unit of the gearbox. Several car owners have complained about the high cost of maintenance due to gearbox failures after the warranty cycle, the website said. In the face of the problem of gearbox which is questioned as a quality defect, the manufacturer has been unable to give a solution. In addition, according to the statistics of the car quality network, from 2020 to today, the number of complaints against Tuguan L is 642. The main complaints are transmission fault light, transmission computer board fault, transmission abnormal noise and transmission slide box failure.

So, is gearbox failure a common fault of Tuguan L? Xiaoshan Pudong Automobile Trade official said that the retention of Tuguan L is relatively large, there must be several such problems, in terms of the overall proportion, it is relatively low. It is understood that the DSG transmission was launched by Volkswagen in Germany in 2002, and many Volkswagen models use the transmission. In the domestic FAW-Volkswagen Maiteng, Suiteng, SAIC Volkswagen Tuan, Lang Yi, Skoda Haorui, Mingrui and other brands have adopted the DSG transmission.

However, from the complaints in recent years, Volkswagen DSG gearbox complaints have increased.
