It is decided to recall some imported and domestic Audi cars from February 26, 2021.

Recall models:

(1) some domestic A6L 2.0T vehicles produced from April 25, 2018 to November 24, 2020, totaling 118074.

(2) some imported A6 Avant 2.0T and A72.0T vehicles produced from October 14, 2019 to November 13, 2020, totaling 6724.

Reasons for recall:

For the vehicles in the recall range (1) and (2) under specific operating conditions when the engine is idling, the imperfect learning function of the camshaft regulator drive algorithm in the engine control unit may lead to deviation of the results. as a result, the camshaft is not adjusted to the correct position, which may lead to the unstable operation of the engine, and in extreme cases, the engine may stop running, which may lead to safety risks.

Solution:

FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. will entrust Audi authorized dealers to upgrade engine control unit software for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge to eliminate safety risks.

The recall was carried out under the circumstances that the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration launched a defect investigation. Affected by the investigation, FAW-Volkswagen decided to take recall measures to eliminate safety risks.

Recall models:

(3) a total of 2 domestic Audi Q3 vehicles produced from September 25, 2019 to January 6, 2020.

Reasons for recall:

For the vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to the manufacture of the supplier, the pulley in the steering gear may have size deviation, resulting in the spring may not be installed correctly during the assembly process. In extreme cases, the spring will fall off and jam the surrounding parts, which will lead to the locking of the steering system, resulting in safety risks.

Solution:

FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. will entrust Audi authorized dealers to replace the steering gear assembly for vehicles within the recall range free of charge, in order to eliminate safety risks.
