Recently, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. according to the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products, the recall plan was filed with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration.

Recall models:

A total of 125568 imported and domestic Class C (205platforms) vehicles with production dates from 9 June 2014 to 28 February 2018 will be recalled from April 30, 2021.

Reasons for recall:

Under unfavorable heat dissipation conditions, such as the engine idling for a long time, the heat generated by the rectifier bridge diode may not be distributed in time, and individual diodes may cause short-circuit failure due to exceeding the maximum operating temperature, resulting in a rise in the temperature of the alternator stator coil, which can not rule out the risk of fire, and there is a safety hidden danger.

Solution:

Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will eliminate safety risks by authorizing dealers to upgrade engine control unit software for vehicles within the scope of the recall.
