AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)03/05 Report--
A few days ago, Volvo Automobile sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan and decided to expand the recall of the following vehicles from March 3, 2021, according to a notice issued by the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration on March 5. a total of 459 vehicles.
(1) Volvo Automobile sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (a total of 58 vehicles)
Recall 2012-2015 partially imported S60 vehicles produced from September 2, 2011 to July 3, 2014, a total of 10 vehicles; 2010-2015 partially domestic S80L vehicles produced from September 16, 2009 to January 18, 2015. a total of 28 vehicles; 2013-2018 partially imported V60 vehicles produced from April 5, 2013 to June 14, 2018, a total of 20 vehicles.
(2) Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (a total of 401)
Recall a total of 401 domestic S60L cars produced from February 20, 2014 to November 29, 2019, which were produced in 2014-2020.
The reason for the recall is that the seat belt fixing cable on the outside of the front seat of the vehicle is in a specific position, and the driver and front passengers entering the vehicle may cause the seatbelt fixing cable to be bent repeatedly and exceed the yield strength of the cable, resulting in cable tension. long-term fatigue and wear may lead to cable fracture. When the vehicle collides, the seat belt restraint function may be affected, and in extreme cases, the seat belt restraint function may fail, which increases the risk of injury in the accident, and there is a safety hidden danger.
In view of the above design defects, Volvo Automobile sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. will replace the improved seat belt fixtures for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge, in order to eliminate safety risks.
It is worth mentioning that the recall is an expanded recall of Volvo Automobile sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd., which were issued on August 18, 2020. The reason for the expansion of the recall is the omission of vehicles within the scope of the previous recall.
On August 18, 2020, Volvo Automobile sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. recalled a total of 244800 imported and domestic Volvo cars. The recall covers a number of models sold in China, including S80, S80L, S60, V70, V60, V60CC, XC60 and S60L.
The August 2020 Volvo recall is part of a global recall. In early July 2020, Volvo launched the largest recall in history, recalling 2.2 million vehicles produced between 2006 and 2019, including 412000 in Sweden, 308000 in the United States and 178000 in Germany, in addition to the 245000 recalled in the domestic market.
Volvo's safety is obvious to all in the industry, known as "the safest car in the world" brand, which has won the favor of many consumers. But in recent years, Volvo cars have gone further and further from the "safest" label. In March 2020, Volvo announced that it would recall 736430 vehicles worldwide because of an emergency system failure, in batches of models produced between January 2019 and March 2020, covering almost all Volvo products on sale.
In addition, Volvo ranked seventh from the bottom in J.D. Power's 2021 U. S. Automobile quality report with 143 failures per 100 vehicles.
