General Fukuda officially went public on March 6, with a price range of 11.98-183800 yuan for the new car. It is understood that the new car launched a total of leisure version, sports version, cross-country version of three appearance style models, and provide three different kinds of power.

General is BAIC Foton's latest pick-up truck, but at first glance, its appearance is very similar to that of an American brand. From the point of view of the real car, General Fukuda adopted a relatively strong design style, with a black straight middle net and a "C" headlamp group on both sides, which made the front of the car look bulky and domineering. In addition, the general added a huge "FOTON" letter logo to China.com, coupled with the strapping body shape and the alignment of headlights on both sides of the front face, which is easily reminiscent of an American pickup truck.

In terms of size, the new car will provide standard freight cars and long freight cars, with 5340/1980/1905mm in length, width and height, 3110mm in wheelbase and 1520 × 1580 × 440mm in size. In terms of size, General Fukuda has a certain advantage over competitors at the same level.

General Fukuda uses a T-shaped layout in the interior, a traditional mechanical pointer dashboard and a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a floating design for the central multimedia display screen, and a large number of physical buttons under the central control.

In terms of power, the new car will offer three power options of 2.0T gasoline, 2.0T diesel and 2.5T diesel, of which the 2.0T gasoline version will have a maximum power of 238 horsepower, while the diesel version will have a maximum power of 150 horsepower and 163 horsepower respectively; the transmission system will match the six-gear manual transmission or ZF's eight-speed manual integrated transmission.

With the gradual relaxation or cancellation of relevant restrictions on pickup models in China, pickup sales continue to rise, and major car companies have also launched new pickup models to meet the market demand. According to statistics from relevant websites, the brand with the highest sales in the pickup market in 2020 is the Great Wall pickup, with cumulative sales of 200016 vehicles this year, an increase of 39.2% over the same period last year, accounting for 48.14% of the pickup market share. Only 12999 Futian pickups were sold during the year, up 11.2% from the same period last year, but far behind brands such as Jiangling pickup, Zhengzhou Nissan and Jiangxi Isuzu.

According to the data, BAIC Foton Motor was established in August 1996 and listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in June 1998. At present, it has developed into an important commercial vehicle enterprise in China, covering trucks, passenger cars, commercial cars and other five major businesses. However, compared with trucks and buses, Fukuda's products in the pickup market are relatively blank, and only two pickup models, trailblazer and conqueror, are on sale. With the listing of Futian's new pickup truck, its product line will be further broadened. The follow-up is expected to drive the market sales of Futian pickup.
