On March 7, SAIC released the latest data showing that cumulative sales from January to February in 2021 were 649557, up 45.13 per cent from a year earlier, and car sales in February were 246476, up 420.37 per cent from a year earlier, down 38.85 per cent from a month earlier.

Sales in the first two months compared with the same period last year does not have much reference significance. Affected by the epidemic in February last year, resulting in basically stagnant production and operation of car companies, sales are very unsightly, so it is inevitable to cause a sharp increase in sales compared with the same period last year. Affected by the Spring Festival holiday in February, the number of working days decreased significantly, and a month-on-month decline in sales was expected.

Overall, both SAIC's joint venture brands and independent brands showed this trend, with sales rising sharply in the first two months and a severe month-on-month decline in February.

SAIC-Volkswagen sold 50500 vehicles in February (up 405 per cent year-on-year / down 41.35 per cent from a month earlier), with cumulative sales of 136600 vehicles in the previous two months (up 11.06 per cent from a year earlier), according to the data. SAIC-Volkswagen fell for 13 consecutive months since January last year and did not grow until February this year. Of course, this year-on-year growth is of little significance, and it is hard to see whether SAIC-Volkswagen has turned it around in a normal month of sales.

According to last month's model sales, SAIC-Volkswagen only sold more than 10,000 Lanya and Santana models in January, while other models fell sharply. As a result, most SAIC-Volkswagen models are expected to continue their growth trend this month, while sales of Lang Yi and Santana are expected to sink further.

SAIC GM sold 76619 vehicles in February (up 906.55 per cent from a year earlier / down 41.10 per cent from a month earlier) and sold 206696 vehicles in the first two months (up 55.32 per cent from a year earlier). SAIC GM mainly relies on the Buick brand to maintain the overall sales situation, in which Yinglong, Onkway and GL8 each bear most of the market share of cars, SUV and MPV, which is of great significance to the market performance of Buick and General Motors.

SAIC GM Wuling sold 65369 vehicles in February (up 453.97% from a year earlier / down 29.91% from a month earlier), and accumulated 158631 vehicles in the first two months (up 76.18% from a year earlier).

In the passenger car market, SAIC GM Wuling mainly relies on two models, Wuling Capgemini and Wuling Hongguang MINI, which quickly become rookies in the car market and MPV market. As for Wuling Hongguang, as a "magic car", it has helped many families get rich, but also due to the upward development of the national economy, Wuling Hongguang's sales have declined seriously and have been surpassed by GL8 and Capgemini.

In terms of independent brands, SAIC sold 30000 passenger cars in February (up 276.55 per cent year on year / down 47.60 per cent from a month earlier), and accumulated sales of 87250 vehicles from January to February (up 28.32 per cent from a year earlier). SAIC passenger car has three major brands: Mingjue, Roewe and SAIC R. SAIC P, as a new brand, its sales are almost negligible. Among the two brands, Mingjue 5, Roewe i5, Mingjue ZS and other models are still to the point.

Overall, SAIC's sales performance in the first half of this year is not very comparable. Sales of major companies will increase sharply in March compared with the same period last year, and the month-on-month performance in April and May will be more referential than the same period last year. After entering the second half of the year, what kind of performance of the major companies will be expected.
