It is understood that Ling Shang based on the TNGA-C platform to build, positioning A + class cars, between Lei Ling and Camry. The new car is expected to be officially launched in the middle of this year (July). The main competitors are Civic and Suiteng.

Ling Shang made his debut at the 2020 Guangzhou Auto Show. After several months of warm-up, he is familiar with Ling Shang's basic information. As a new model to be launched by GAC Toyota this year, Ling Shang has adopted a new design in appearance, with a larger medium grid on the front face, a horizontal design on the interior, the design above the front and headlights basically consistent with Leiling, while moving the Toyota LOGO to the top of the hood.

In terms of size, Lingshang's body length is 4700mm and its wheelbase is 2750mm. The new car is positioned as a compact car, but it is higher than the compact car Leiling and lower than the medium-sized Camry.

From the official picture, Ling Shang's interior layout is also somewhat similar to that of Lei Ling. The new car retains some physical buttons and uses a combination of 12.3-inch full liquid crystal panel and 9-inch suspension central control screen, electronic brakes and mechanical shift lever.

In terms of power, Toyota Ling Shang will be equipped with a 2.0L naturally aspirated engine codenamed M20C, with a maximum power of 178hp and a peak torque of 210Nm, matched by a CVT gearbox.

Ling Shang is one of Toyota's new models launched this year and is scheduled to go on sale in July. It is understood that Toyota will release a number of new cars this year, among which FAW Toyota Asia Lion plans to officially launch on March 29th, and the new Hanlanda is expected to be launched in the second quarter, with a wheelbase of 2850mm and a 2.5L hybrid system, which has been improved in appearance, space and other aspects. In addition, the "FAW Toyota version" Hanlanda and domestic Harrier are also planned to be launched this year.

Since 2018, Toyota has successively introduced a number of TNGA architecture models, such as Camry, Leiling, Asian Dragon, Carola and so on, which have become the main source of Toyota sales in China. At present, GAC Toyota owns three major car products of Camry, Leiling and Zhixuan family, with sales of 29246, 42749 and 18735 respectively in the first two months. With the arrival of Ling Shang, while filling the gap in the A + market and expanding the TNGA family product lineup, it will also bring new sales growth to Toyota.

However, Ling Shang's performance is well-behaved in all aspects, and the final price will determine the audience of this model.
