On March 20, GAC MOTOR GA4 PLUS officially launched four new models with a price range of 7.58-99800 yuan. As a medium-term revamped model, the new GAC MOTOR GA4 is based on the GPMA platform architecture, uses a new appearance design, and the new car is renamed from "GA4" to "GA4 PLUS".

Compared with the current model, the new GAC MOTOR GA4 has obvious changes in appearance, with a larger front grille design on the front face and a new style and fumigation treatment inside the grille, making it look a lot younger. The LED headlights on both sides have also been adjusted, and the front bumper fog light area has also been changed into an air intake, which is much more severe than the cash. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4735/1805/1500mm, the wheelbase is 2660mm, and the length has increased.

The new GA4 is more traditional in interior design, although it uses the more popular penetrating design, with a 10.25-inch central control screen and a 7-inch full LCD dashboard, but still uses a three-frame steering wheel and retains a large number of physical buttons.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 1.5T three-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 120kw and a maximum torque of 235N ·m. In terms of transmission system, it is matched by a 7-speed wet double clutch gearbox.

It is understood that the current GAC MOTOR GA4 model went on sale in January 2018, using the design style of the Chuanqi family in appearance. For power, GAC MOTOR GA4 offers 1.3T and 1.5L engine configurations, with maximum power of 84kw and 101kw, peak torque of 150N ·m and 202N ·m.

Judging from the data, although the new Chuanqi GA4 is equipped with a 1.5T three-cylinder engine, its power output is no less than the previous 1.3T and 1.5L four-cylinder engines. However, for Chuanqi GA4, the current market competition is very fierce, independent brands basically have models on sale at this price, including Changan Yiyou, Geely colorful Rui, Roewe i5, etc., while Chuanqi GA4 is more dynamic than older models, but consumers generally accept the three-cylinder engine is not high, the follow-up market performance is difficult to have more room to rise. Of course, if there is a compromise on the terminal market price, it can still be recognized by some consumers.

Data show that GAC MOTOR GA4 accumulated sales of 36266 vehicles in 2018, 9308 vehicles in 2019, and only 2037 vehicles in the first 11 months of 2020, down 77.26 percent from the same period last year, mainly affected by national six emission standards. Although the follow-up market performance of the model is conservative, it can still exceed the current market performance due to the update of the appearance and interior of the model.
