AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)03/23 Report--
Polestar Polar Star, a brand co-founded by Volvo Automobile Group and Geely holding Group, has once again launched a recall.
Recently, Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. authorized and commissioned Jixing Automobile sales Co., Ltd., in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products, the recall plan was filed with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration. It is decided that from December 9, 2019 to February 4, 2021, a total of 2031 domestic Ji Xing 2 first-release pure electric vehicles will be recalled.
The reason for the recall is that due to supplier reasons, the microprocessor in the power battery energy control module (BECM) is reset, which may cause the high voltage battery connection to be disconnected while driving. There is no warning while driving, and there is a risk of accidental disconnection of the high pressure system. In extreme cases, the driving may lose power, there are safety risks. At this time, the steering system and braking system of the vehicle are working normally.
In view of the above defects, Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. will upgrade the power battery energy control module (BECM) software for vehicles within the recall range free of charge through vehicle remote upgrade (OTA) technology, so that users do not need to go to the store to eliminate safety risks. For vehicles that cannot be recalled through vehicle remote upgrade (OTA) technology, Star Motor sales Co., Ltd. will contact relevant users through the Star Service Center to arrange for the vehicle to return to the authorized maintenance service provider to upgrade the power battery energy control module (BECM) software free of charge to eliminate safety risks. At the same time, undelivered vehicles will be sold after defects are eliminated.
In general, the defect may eventually cause the vehicle to lose power, which can be removed only through OTA, and if it is not possible to OTA, the vehicle needs to be sent to the service center to upgrade the battery control module software free of charge.
It is understood that this is not the first time that Star cars have been recalled. On October 16, 2020, Polar Star announced a recall of 110Polestar 2s due to software problems with the Power Battery Control Module (BECM) that may cause the vehicle to lose power while driving. On November 13, 2020, Polar Motor announced another recall of 551 Polestar 2s, this time due to faulty inverter connections, resulting in the vehicle being unable to start or lose power.
Judging from the three recalls, Polar 2 was recalled by Polar 2, two of which were due to software problems with the power battery control module (BECM).
At present, Polar Polestar has two products, Polestar 1 and Polestar 2, of which the Polestar 2 is the first model to be delivered on a large scale. the car is based on Volvo's CMA architecture and costs 298000 yuan for the standard version and 418000 yuan for the first version. The power of Polestar 2 is equipped with double motors before and after, the comprehensive maximum output power is 300kW (408PS), the peak torque is 660N ·m, and the comprehensive mileage under NEDC condition can reach 450km.
Although Polestar Star is an electric car brand co-founded by Volvo and Geely, the current situation in China is not optimistic. According to the 2020 luxury brand insurance data released by the data Resource Center of China Automobile Center, the cumulative number of polar stars in 2020 is only 365.
