The appearance of the new car adopts Ford's latest family design, the large-size polygonal intake grille is integrated with the slender split headlights on both sides, and the interior of the grille is decorated with dot-matrix chrome strips, according to the different models. The color of the medium net is also divided into black and silver. The taillight adopts the through-type design, and the intermediate light belt is discontinuous design. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4905/1930/1755mm and wheelbase 2865mm respectively.

Laoyu also uses the latest family design on the interior, but the overall design is still more traditional. The new car uses an integrated screen design composed of a full LCD dashboard and a central display screen, and retains a large number of physical buttons. The new car uses a brand new three-frame steering wheel and a knob shift. In terms of power, Ford is equipped with a 2.0T engine with a maximum power of 163 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 360 Nm, matched by SAIC's six-speed wet double-clutch gearbox.

The launch of Laoyu can be said to fill the gap in the market of medium and large SUV, while focusing on the household market, providing consumers with more choices. However, the market has a certain view on the double clutch gearbox carried by Linyu.

It is understood that the gearbox used in the Ford field is the "DCT360" 6 speed wet double clutch gearbox from SAIC, Wuling, Mingjue and Roewe. Cheetah, Zhongtai and other brand models have used gearboxes, but the experience response is not good. Previously, Zhongtai took Shanghai Automobile Transmission Company to court because of SAIC's DCT360 gearbox. Zhongtai's T600, T300, T800, Z700 and SR9 models were all equipped with SAIC DCT360 transmissions, which were broken due to insufficient strength of the transmission clutch shock absorber slider, which was the interruption of vehicle power. Zhongtai received a large number of complaints from users.

Apart from Zhongtai Automobile, Wuling Baojun can be said to have the greatest influence. In July 2020, the Baojun 560, a miraculous car, was criticized by CCTV 315 for carrying the same SAIC defective gearbox. Baojun later announced a recall and price reduction of the relevant models, but with no obvious effect.

Although Laoyu has obvious advantages in space, price and so on, consumers still attach great importance to the three major pieces of models in this price range. Think about it, as a major household model, consumers already have a certain household demand, but if the gearbox breaks down frequently, it will have a great impact on consumers' use of the car.

As one of Ford's joint ventures in China, Jiangling Ford is obviously not as famous as Changan Ford. At present, Jiangling Ford has accumulated sales of 44355 vehicles in 2020, of which 40174 are leading-edge vehicles, accounting for 90% of the total, while road shakers are only 2285. As Jiangling Ford's brand-new model, although it has certain advantages in space and other aspects, but as one of the three major pieces, it is difficult to imagine how good it will sell.
