On the 16th, the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration issued the latest recall information. Brilliance BMW Motor Co., Ltd. and BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the Administration of defective Automobile products recall and the measures for the implementation of defective Automobile products recall, put on record the recall plan and decided to recall the following vehicles from August 30, 2019.

(a) brilliance BMW Co., Ltd. recalled some domestic brilliance BMW 118i, 218i, 220i, 316i, 318i, 318Li, 320i, 320Li, 328i, 328Li, 330i, 330Li, X1 and ZINORO 1e, ZINORO 60H vehicles produced during the period from January 2, 2014 to October 16, 2017, totaling 272880.

(II) BMW (China) Automotive Trading Co., Ltd. recalled some imports of BMW 116i, 118i, 120i, 125i, 130i, 218i, 220i, 318i, 320i, 323i, 325i, 328i, 335i, 340i, 420i, 425i, 428i, 430i, 435i, 440i, 520i, 528i, 530i, 535i, 540i, 640i, 650i, M135i, M140i, M2, M235i, M240i, M3, M4, M5, M6, X1, X3, X4, X5, X6, X1, X3, X4, X5, X6, X5, X X6 M and Active Hybrid X6 cars A total of 87121 vehicles.

Reasons for recall:

The airbags of the vehicles within the scope of this recall are equipped with an ammonium nitrate gas generator without desiccant produced by Takata. During the deployment of the airbag, the gas generator may be abnormally damaged, resulting in debris flying out, injuring the people in the car, and there is a safety hidden danger.

Solution:

Brilliance BMW Motor Co., Ltd. and BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. will replace the airbag gas generators in the parts of the recalled vehicles free of charge to eliminate safety risks. (note: for some X5, X6, X5M, X6M vehicles, the front airbags of the driver and front passengers are involved; for other vehicles, the front airbags of the driver are involved. )
