As of April 2, the three major domestic car brands have released first-quarter delivery data. Overall, the three new car-building forces delivered a total of 17259 cars in March and 45979 in the first quarter.

Data show that there are three models on sale: the ES6, the ES8 and the EC6, which delivered a total of 7257 vehicles in March. Of these, 1529 were delivered by ES8, 3152 by ES6 and 2576 by EC6. In the first quarter of this year, the cumulative delivery volume of NIO has reached 20060.

Recently, the brand-new model of Xilai has been exposed. According to the registered trademark of a model of NIO exposed by the Trademark Office of the State intellectual property Office, Shanghai Lailai Automobile Co., Ltd. has registered a new trademark named EF9. According to the existing ES series and EC series, EF series is a brand-new product series. At present, there is not much news about this model, and it is speculated that the MPV model will be launched.

Xiaopeng currently has two models, Xiaopeng G3 and Xiaopeng P7, for sale. The delivery volume in March 2021 is 5102, of which 2247 are Xiaopeng G3 and 2855 are Xiaopeng P7. In the first quarter of this year, Xiaopeng delivered a total of 13340 cars.

In terms of products, Xiaopeng plans to unveil the third mass-produced model at the Shanghai Auto Show, with the internal code name D55, or Xiaopeng P5. According to the spy photos previously exposed, Xiaopeng P5 is similar to Xiaopeng P7 in appearance. The design of the front and rear lamp group can see the shadow of Xiaopeng P7, using the popular through taillight design. It is understood that the Xiaopeng P5 positioning pure electric compact car, lower than the Xiaopeng P7, will be mass produced in the third quarter and officially delivered in the fourth quarter.

Ideal ONE is currently the only model on sale, with delivery of 4900 vehicles in March and 12579 in the first three months. Although the sales of the ideal car is low, but given that it has only one model, its actual performance is better than the above two car companies.

Compared with the above two brands, ideal car currently has a more complete product planning. As previously reported, ideal Motors will launch new X-Series and S-Series cars based on the LRM2.0 platform. Among them, the LRM2.0-based platform will launch four models, X01 positioning large 6-seat SUV, price range 35-500000, standard Mercedes-Benz GLS, planned to launch in the fourth quarter of 2022; X02 located in medium and large 6-seat SUV, price range 30-400000, standard Mercedes-Benz GLE; S01 is located in medium and large 6-seat SUV, price range 25-350000, opposite Tesla Model X S02 is located in a medium-sized 5-seat SUV with a price range of 20-300000 for Standard Tesla Model Y. According to Li Xiang's plan, the strategic goal of ideal Automobile in 2025 is to gain 20% market share and become the number one smart electric vehicle company in China.

The share prices of all three car brands rose after the sales figures were released. The current share prices of NIO, Xiaopeng and ideal are $39.66,36.95,25.25 respectively, with a total market capitalization of $62.4 billion, $28.4 billion and $22.8 billion, respectively, representing an increase of more than 1 per cent.

Judging from the delivery results of the three car companies, the sales ranking of the three car companies did not change in March, which is still "Wei Xiaoli", and there is no large gap in the sales volume of the three car companies, which indirectly reflects the competitive pattern of the three car companies in the market. From the perspective of sales in the first quarter, NIO is ahead of Xiaopeng and ideal, while the competition between Xiaopeng and ideal is more fierce. Although Xiaopeng is ahead of ideal, there are two models on sale, which is actually slightly better under this background.

For the three car brands, although sales are OK, they are facing a bigger crisis, that is, "lack of core". On March 26, Xilai announced that it had decided to suspend production at the Jianghuai Automobile Plant in Hefei for five days from March 29 due to a shortage of chips. As a result, Xilai Automobile has become a domestic car brand whose price has been announced to stop production.

Xiaopeng also expressed concern about the supply of chips. Gu Hongdi, president of Xiaopeng Automobile, said that Xiaopeng's chip can last for two to three months, which will not have an impact in the short term, but will also pay close attention to the supply of chips. Ideal says inventory risks exist, but production plans have not yet been affected.
